The Splitting of Azeroth Empty The Splitting of Azeroth

Wed Jun 22, 2016 1:48 pm
At its birth, Azeroth was blessed by the titans. One day, the demonic armies of the Burning Legion came and shattered the peace and led the night elves to sunder their world. Gradually, races were dragged to Azeroth (such as the orcs, draenei, and ogres), others evolved, and others were brought up from the dust itself. The peoples of Azeroth have fought brutally against the demons and their servants, and much blood was and is still being shed.

After the Third War, three major powers emerged: the Scourge, Horde, and Alliance. Other major powers include the Qiraji, Naga and Argent Crusade. Although ravaged by conflict, somehow through trickery, betrayal, and sheer blood, Azeroth has survived the Burning Legion four times. However, Azeroth is still torn by conflict, hate, and war.

However, it would seem that the heat of war would still not calm down upon this planet created so long ago by the Titans. Even after the third war Azeroth surface continued to churn and change as battles after battles seemed to burst up all around, from the high north island of Northrend down to the recent land of Pandaria. Nothing seemed to still the ever roaring battle between horde and alliance and the many other enemies that dared to go against either side. Of course not all sides are perfect as arguments began as well between the races.

With the fall of Garrosh Hellscream at the hands of Thrall former Warchief of the Horde a new warchief had to take its place, Thrall still healing the lands from the aftermath of Deathwing the bringer of death and chaos appointed a new leader. One for since the start was always siding with the Horde, standing with its brothers and sisters of varying races....Vol'jin of the Darkspear Clan. Though not all within wanted a 'troll' to govern them, many still following the ways of Garrosh and inner turmoil still riled up after all the horde began with orcs....an orc should be the one that lead them not some 'troll'.

The clashing of the horde within only seemed to stir up things within the Alliance, Kring Wryn who long hated the horde was constantly told to go against them...but with no hatred towards Vol'jin himself the king did not think he had a willing battle to start. Jaina Proudmoore forever against the horde continued to argue within the kings ear, even as Kadgar the arcane mage would argue that the horde was not ones that should continue to go against that peace was needed. Without true thought process and old wounds stirring from years maybe even centuries of suffering other races began to retaliate...retreating to their home lands and looking after themselves. It would seem that the trust between races on all sides...was starting to split and rupture...something had to be done....for if the alliance and horde fell....a new evil could rise up and destroy Azeroth....for good....

It would be up to the youth to help change the course of Azeroth's future...and this grand journey to save Azeroth and all who live upon it...would begin in an ancient city of Darnassus home of the proud Night Elves who have seen their far share of war and destruction.

The Splitting of Azeroth Empty Re: The Splitting of Azeroth

Darnassus, the greatest city of the Night Elves. One of the oldest living races in Azeroth, it was the first mortal druid of Azeroth Archdruid Malfurion Stormrage taught by the patron diety of druids Cenarius himself, who lead his people bravely through the War of the Ancients that sundered the planet but the battles and conflicts that followed before returning into the Emerald Dream, the spirit dream that connects to the physical realm, to repair the damage caused to the world. While Malfurion sleeps in the dream, the leadership of the Kaldorei, the proud and noble night elves, is in the hands of his mate High Priestess of Elune Tyrande Whisperwind and the child he fathered on a brief return from the Dream years ago. A young man who had taken up his father's mantle and devoted himself to the ways of the druid, the earth and his people and taught by his priestly mother the ways to appease and receive the blessings of Elune. This young man, with blue hair much like his mother, and a strong build like his father's currently sat next to said another well dressed woman was giving a report "Mi'lady, there have been more reports of horde activity enroaching closer and closer to Ashenvale once more. The forests have not been breach, but more encampments are beginning to sprout along the borders."the woman said "Do you feel the disturbances too Kamari?"she asked the young man as he nodded his head "Indeed I do, the taint on the land can be felt through the Emerald Dream, the land cries out as it is pillaged and destroyed. Surely King Wrynn is to react to the threat to the continent? His lands are the ones closest to the strife of the horde."he said a frown deeply etched into his features "Do the dwarves and gnomes show no concern for their allies? We restore the world, we should not have to fight all of it's battles either."

The Splitting of Azeroth Empty Re: The Splitting of Azeroth

Far outside the city of Stormwind, far in into the wilderness and other people, a small band of hunters were clearing their camp. These hunters had little need of other people or large towns. The trees gave them shelter. The forest floor offered soft beds. The animals provided nourishment and other wise companionship. If and when they ventured into the towns and cities were to trade or sell meats or skins or offer as guid through the tougher terrains.

Amoung this group a large wolf of various shades of Browns, reds and black fur trotted around with something in his mouth. "I swear if you don't drop it, I'll skin you, ya mangy thing!" Said a wound who chased after the wolf that was her pet, friend and mount. Reddish brown hair in a mixture of dreadlocks and braids swung and bounced behind her in her chase of the wolf. Beads made from bone, stone and random feathers swayed with the locks of hair.
"Xerena. Stop playing with that pup and finish getting ready! We need to make it to Stormwind before nightfall. The lands are getting more dangerous the closer we get to there and I'd like to make this trip as brief as possible."
Xerna sighed, "yea father." She said and shouted one last time for the beast to stop and that time, he listened.

The Splitting of Azeroth Empty Re: The Splitting of Azeroth

Fri Jun 24, 2016 10:50 am
On an isle off Kalimdor's northeast side sat a large object, it had crashed landed here from a world and place farther than most could imagine. The Exodar was a ship used to carry the many refuges from the planet of Draenor in their escape from the demonic burning legion. It had been a hard thing to adjust to on this new planet but the creatures inside known as the Draenei (Exiled Ones) had learn to make this place a home. They aided the ones apart of the Alliance in many battles since their arrival, but much about them still was unknown as much of it...was lost to them.

One Draenei walked through the many humming sounds of the crystals of the Exodar, glancing around at what had been her childhood home and how much of it was destroyed or removed to create shelters or repairs to what was damaged. The young female shifted upon her hooves as she pushed back some of her hair behind her pointed ears, while eyes that glowed blue scanned the halls. "Avaylnn!" a voice called out as she soon turned, a larger built draenei moved towards her and she smiled. "Brother, did not expect you to be here so soon." she said warmly, as her tail flicked slightly.

"I would not miss to see my little sister after all this time....father sends his wishes to you" "I wish I could see him...but I understand the battles you all must face." she said softly as she sighed, "If I where ju..." "You are still training, the light is not so easily used by those who are careless Avaylnn..." the larger draenei stated, "specially now with how things are...so much tension between the others..." "Is there something that can be done?" she asked as her brother shook his head "nothing we can do now....keep up your training but for now I will rest" "of course brother." she said bowing slightly, "May the light protect you" "and you sister" he said gently touching her forehead with a warm smile before turning to leave.

Avaylnn sighed watching her eldest brother walk away, before she turned moving up the large ramp that lead outside and towards the docks that would take one to Darnassus. She had been there a few times, the light of the naaru and the light of elune she though where one in the same...perhaps...she should ask the elves what it meant to use the light and perhaps that would help in the turmoil that was befalling the lands. She would nod her head some, the great Profit Velen even saught help from the elves once...perhaps it would be best to ask them what they knew about the light.

"If I want to become a Vindicator...I must learn more about the light...and to protect this world from the termoil it faces...." she stated to herself as she noticed one of the ferries, without even so much as gathering supplies she moved towards it. Her hooves hitting against the ground before the sound of them stomping on the wooden planks of the bridge echoed in her ears as she moved up to the ferry. The crew on board nodded their heads towards her, quiet used to picking up her kin and others who came and went to this isle.

She would take a deep breath as she hadn't been off the isle in some time, as she moved to the side waiting for the ferry to take off. Once it did she'd watch as her small island vanished and the large trunk of a tree began to fill her blue eyes this...was Darnasus home of the Night elves. "By the light..." she said in shock looking at what remained of a great tree, destroyed long ago. Stepping from the ferry she made her way up the path and through a small opening before stepping into the city. The peace here was unlike what she knew....the soft singing filled her ears rather than the hum of the Naaru and the crystals of her home.

The Splitting of Azeroth Empty Re: The Splitting of Azeroth

High Priestess Tyrande sighed as she held up her hand gently resting it on her son's forearm "Let the light still your mind, and let the forest speak to your heart my son"she said gently as she closed her eyes "This is a clash that has shaped the world since before time. Our alliance is changing Kamari. The Horde grow more angry, more fragmented by the day. Many factions are starting to act on their own accord regardless of the Warchief's orders. As a future archdruid, I wish for you to travel to the Moonglade and hold council with the Cenarion Circle. Perhaps our worgen, tauren and troll brethren who are remaining neutral have some further insight into the disasters plaguing our planet"she said "The light of Elune has shown me a vision. One who comes to learn more about the ways of the light, and we night elves are to guide our foreign visitor whenever she arrives. However in the meantime, much is to be done."she said "When you return from Moonglade, be prepared, your next destination may take you as far as Stormwind. As liaison of the Kaldorei, you may have to take those questions you posed of our allies directly to their plates and goblets yourself my young elf"she said

Kamari nodded his head grabbing his staff from between his crossed legs and pushing himself up "As you wish mi'lady"he said bowing to his mother "I will do everything I can to aid our people however I can...I know it isn't easy with Father being preoccupied inside the Emerald Dream"he sighed looking out one of the windows over the gardens and running water "Do you think there will ever be a time for peace?"he asked curiously to no one in particular before vanishing in a puff of smoke as a tail of a large cat like creture could be seen slinking out of one of the windows

Wed Jul 06, 2016 8:26 pm
The day of trades and purchasing what was needed done, the group of hunters made their way back into the wilderness and away from the city. "So where to now?" The younger huntress asked her father as she rode her wolf along side him. "We make our way towards Darnassus. Word has it a lot of large game has made its way there since their natural migrations have been disrupted because of the battle." He said and looked at his daughter. "I know this is not your fm first hunt Xenara and you are fine with a blade but I need you to focus and be vigilante."
"I understand father. I will do my best."

"I need more then your best child." He said as a way to push her to her full potential.

The Splitting of Azeroth Empty Re: The Splitting of Azeroth

Wed Jul 06, 2016 11:22 pm
The feeling of the ship rocking beneath her hooves was something she wasn't quiet used to, but had dealt with when aiding out fishing and gathering other supplies between the islands. Though she would soon be stepping off as it would pull up to the dock that connected to the Darnasian kingdom, she shifted glancing back at the others that had been on the ship with her it wasn't like the trip between her home and the elven homeland. Shaking her head, she would move up towards the small gateway that with a bit of magic sent one up into the city rather than having to attempt to scale the trunk of the once mightily 'world tree'

Avaylnn was a bit taken back by the city when she stepped through it and glanced around, as a Draenei she easily towered over many races and night elves were closest to her in height some even the same but she still felt a bit 'tall' here as she glanced around, shifting on her hooves once more as she then started walking forward. The sound of her hooves hitting against the stone pathways that pathed the way over the water and she let her attention towards the tall temple of the priestess in the middle. "I think this is were I need to go..." she muttered to herself, it was in draenic as she spoke little common but could understand it.

After landing on the ground Kamari transformed back into his elven form as he gathered his staff. Inside the temple was a pond in which he liked to spend his time deeply meditating on the small platform in the center as he moved over sitting down closing his eyes as his brow furrowed in thought *I can't shake this disturbing feeling that has encompassed the land.*he thought to himself as the natural energies of the land began to swirl and dance around him as shapes and pictures appeared in the mystical energies, images from far and wide as he channeled his mana into the earth and she channeled her spirit back into him as the pupils faded from his now open white eyes as he floated slightly off the ground, slowly rotating in a circle as the energies continued rushing around him

The Splitting of Azeroth Empty Re: The Splitting of Azeroth

The journey would take at least a day or two but the group made good time in their first day of travel, stopping just before the sun had begun to set on them, giving them enough time and remaining light to find a suitable place to set up camp.

It was a clear and warm enough night and the Hunters needed to travel light, no tents or shelters were made and simple laid out their bedrolls in the grass and forest foliage. A fire was made in the center of their circle and the animal companions took the outer ring. Xenara leaned again her wolf who was laying down behind her? Gnawing the flesh off a bone from an early kill that he had helped her find. He had earned his meal that night. She has strung up the hide of the deer to dry after having cleaned in and would treat and tan it on another day while the rest of it remains were being cooked on the fire in various ways. Stewed, roasted over the fire, some were even being packed in salt to keep it for another time or dried out for a form of quick substance to eat when traveling with no time to stop and make a proper meal. What bones of hooves that were left were given out amoungst the group in making of various tools or jewelry or something else that they or others would require. Nothing was left to waste. What was I needed or wanted, such as the eyes or entrails , were given to the meat eating animals for food. Bones and the rest that went unused was given a burial and thanks were given to the animal for its given life.

The faint sound of hooves against the grass within the shrine would be heard as she would move into the building and would glance around the air within this space was something she knew well. It was as if she was in the process of one of the Naaru that helped guide her people either in wisdom, power, or protection. "It is as if the Naaru are all around me..." she stated softly to herself, as she glanced around moving further inside her hooves crushing the grass till she soon came upon the pool. The statue of Elune in the center but she paused as floating above the water was a night elf male.

She was a bit confused as she stood there watching, before she would soon clear her throat "Achal hecta" she stated simply towards him wondering if she was going to ruin his meditation but she didn't want to bother him to much. Since he was the only night elf here though she didn't know who else to talk to about learning more about the light.

One of the Kamari's large ears switched hearing the sound as he slowly was lowered back to the ground as he blinked a couple times before standing and stretching "I didn't quite catch what you said?"he called out to her as he picked up his staff and began crossing the pond over to her "Welcome to the Temple of Elune, may the Goddess watch over you"he said bowing his head gracefully "Whatever brings a dranei visitor this far into Darnassus?"he asked curiously as he finally stood before her about eye to eye as he reached out to shake her hand "Whoever might this dranei visitor be called?"

Their trip soon found the hunters in the kingdom of Darnassus. Thankfully hunters were not disturbed by the elves for their mutual respect for the land and its creatures. Their next camp sight gave Xenara the view of temple spires. Once the camp was made up, she managed to sneak away and go towards the temple to look around. Though she had no need for cities or large groups of people, the cultures were fascinating. Architecture, music and religion were the three things that fascinated her the most.

She dismounted the wolf and told him to stay put before walking up the steps with out realizing her mount wandered off, following the scent of a nearby horse.

Avaylnn would look to the night elf even as he moved down towards her, she understood their language but her own speaking of it was a bit rough if not horrible. She sighed softly as she would try to figure out the proper way of speaking "It means....as you say....Good Day" she stated her accent rather thick telling him she did not have much practice speaking common but at least understood it well enough. When he moved closer and held out his hand, she tilted her head some this was a custom human greeting from what she understood as she raised her hand to shake his.

Her fingers tipped in the claw like fashion that many of her kin had as her tail flicked back and forth slightly wrapping around her leg, as her hand slid from his she would soon speak "I am...called Avaylnn" she said as she would soon raise her hand and made a fist before putting it to her heart as she bowed towards him. A traditional draenei greeting, "I have come....to..." she paused as he could see her trying to think of the correct words, "To learn more of...the light of this land.....for it...is much like that of....Naaru" she was doing her best to explain it as her silver eyes scanned over him.

"The Naaru? I don't--"Kamari started before being cut off as he felt the presence of his mother as he looked up seeing her slowly descending the staircase towards them as he bowed his head slightly as she reached them as he long flowing dress billowed gently behind her "Welcome to the temple young Draenei."she said in Avalynn's native tongue "There are many of your people who come here seeking that same answer including Velen himself"she said "Though the answer is not a simple one."

Xenara climbed the steps and stopped when she saw two people already there an elf and race she didn't seem to recognize. Not wanting to interrupt she turned to leave when the sound panicked horses echoed through the temple. She ran down the path she had taken and saw her wolf had ventured toward the horses and had spooked them. He wouldn't hurt them, had been trained not to since some of the hunters of her group chose to ride horses. The horses didn't know that however and scent and aight of the predator had frightened them. "You mangy thing I can't leave you alone for a minute!" She sighed angrily and went up to the horses. "Easy easy." She said trying to snatch the reins and calm the frightened animal.

Avaylnn would turn her head towards the stairs to see the female night elf, the grace she held and how she moved she knew this was some one of high importance. Though hearing her speak in her native tongue and bring up the Prophet she would put two and two together, this was the High Priestess and ruler of the night elves, Tyrande and she would soon raise her hand again and press it to her chest before bowing "Archenon poros" (Good Fortune) she said simply as she would raise up straight once again. "I understand it is not easy to understand High Priestess...but for me to wield it properly and serve the land as many of my kin do...I must learn all that I can."

Now that she didn't have to attempt to speak in common it was easier to state what she wanted, however though that had to wait as the startled cry of a horse caught her attention as she turned. Her hooves hitting the ground as she moved outside, only to see a small creature attempting to calm the beast with a large wolf to the side. Draenei had a simple fear of wolves due to them always accompanied by an orc most of the time, and she quickly started to look around seeking to find the orc.

As the group moved outside Kamari made a beeline straight towards the wolf and the horse as he quickly reached the animals as he raised his staff in the air as the end of it began to flash green, however instead of a harsh or powerful spell leaving the end, a warm, soft aura began to surround the immediate area and all who felt it suddenly felt relax and rejuvenated as tensions and fear immediately lowered as he gently laid his hand on the horse as it nuzzled him gently "Is everything alright here?"he asked as his staff slowly stopped glowing though the peaceful aura still resided for a few moments longer before fading

Xenara let out a huff of air after the calming effect took hold. She had never been too fond of magic, or perhaps how some mages used it. Or in this case how it was used to change a persons mood or feelings, but it helped to descilate the present situation and she turned to them, lowering her hood. "Apologies....my companion over there is still young and forgets his training." He said with a gesture to the wolf. "He wouldn't have harmed your horse I promise, but still, I sorry for the disturbance in the middle of your prayers."

Avaylnn would feel the peace wash over her, and she knew well what sort of magic it was but she would close her eyes letting it calm her own distress. The soft hum moving through her body before she would soon open her eyes again as she glanced at the smaller female, then to the wolf still not to pleased to be around one but would soon speak as best she could in common. "Small one did not interrupt..." she said simply as she stood there, and glanced at the other night elf male that had cast the magic.

"Shall head back....inside temple?" she asked wishing that she could just speak in her normal tongue rather than this strange one.

"Xenara." She said and bowed her head to them. "I am interested in other peoples religions mostly for I find their art and songs and prayer beautiful...Though my true temple lays around us." she said and smiled as she waved an arm to indicate the forest and world around them. "But yes if you are so kind to offer." She said and followed them back inside and looked to her wolf. "Sit." She said firmly and the young wolf huffed and laid down.

Avaylnn watched the nightelf talk with the human female, but she would remain silent before she would follow them into the temple. Her common was still in need of work, but as she stepped into the temple she was rather shocked to see how much it did not appear to be that of a temple of the goddess. The green grass was lush throughout the whole room, while a fountain with a depiction of Elune holding up a bowl towards the sky stood before them. "by the light..." she said in shock.

The very air was peaceful, and a calming feeling seemed to wash over her body as she shifted and took in a deep breath. "its is so calm within here.." she said softly
