The New Dawn

North, South, East, West...to most it has been known to classify a direction but to many...it was much more. These four words used to represent four different nations that split what we now know as the Asian content, each of these nations were also over seen by a single clan headed by what we know to be a Daiyokai. These creatures are a very powerful type of yokai that is much stronger and smarter than common yokai. Most daiyokai have long lifespans, possibly even longer than those of normal yokai. They tend to remain calm in battle even if the situation is dire or their life is threatened. Daiyokai vary in shape and size, just like normal yokai. Some may even retain a more humanoid like appearance allowing them to travel without being seen or to even blend in among other races. For centuries four of the strongest oversaw the lands, provided the start of a government like structure varying depending on how they ruled, as well as set up a system of common ground though sometimes peace was not always granted and wars broke out dividing the lands and creating the rivers, mountain ranges that dot the land. Yokai however, were not the only creatures that inhabited the land along side them where the human race. Their lives not as long lived as yokai nor do they possess the varrying skills and magic-like abilities that yokai...however they have been apart of the creation of the Asian continent as well.

When the four clans came together splitting the land into the four nations, humans were not apart of that however...they did over see other cities and villages within those nations. Yokai and Humans rarely if ever got along a deep distrust and hatred having settled there for one reason or another throughout time but every so often these two races come together and that is how the race known as half demon's came to be. Half Human and Half Yokai unable to be truly accepted into either race, a heavy blow but time changes the mindsets of others and as the Waring time came to and end and the modern age of man began....so to had what has been changed.

No longer are there just four nations, with humans so short lived they grew in number while yokai such long lived began to dwindle the balance of power shifting and then an agreement was made yet again between the four nations. To allow the humans to divide the four nations creating their own countries and homes but allowing the daiyokai who have seen the lands change and become what they are are still at the head of the new nations that now spread across the land. Times may have changed but power, strength, and knowledge have always been a key concept in defending the lands and those that live within it...and no other understands that better than the four nations that have watched as their lands evolved to the towering skyscrapers that we now see today and the bustling cities of millions that scatter across the lands.

~~~~Present Day~~~~
The hustle and bustle of the world around was like a river always flowing, something new always was going on and that was very much true to one who was busy running after a buss that had just pulled away from the buss stop. "Oh come on!!! I was on time!!" the red head yelled as she soon stumbled to a stop breathing heavily, clunching her bag as she leaned against one of the light poles. A few people turning to watch the strange girl but others went about their day as she raised her hand to push her hair from her face revealing two unique colored eyes one a deep green...the other a golden amber a trait one would think said she had yokai blood in her...when really it was a mark for something else.....something many were not lucky to inherit....magic. "Great I'm going to be late for class....and I just read that damn history book too!!..." she looked at her watch and bit her lip looking around. "Ok...I should be able to get to the next buss...and get to class just before...." she muttered and took off running.

Her name was Kaguya Hitsu, a 18 year old freshmen college student just graduating high school the few months before and now starting her life as an adult. As she ran she barely noticed a few of the marketing ads one being from a leading corrporation that also was a direct connection to the first family...aka the Royal Clan of yokai that over saw the other governments within their territory. Where Kaguya lived was within one of the four nations....more specifically...the west ruled by the Royal clan of the Inu Yokai aka the Dog Demons. Their head was a man known as Inu No Taisho a rather unique name but yokai's where like that, his heir was the ever popular and great at everything Sesshoumaru Taisho and second in line was his younger half brother....Inuyasha. To Kaguya they where just a family that where so high up in the clouds that one could never reach them...much less hope to even meet them one day, but she couldn't help but glance at one of the posters of Sesshoumaru wearing one of the latest suites by Armani his silver hair pulled to a side ponytail and as she slowly slowed down to star she would soon hear the sound of a car horn as she yelped. The green light for crossing flashing red at her now and the cars went flying past as she sighed, "oh come on!!...." she groaned out shaking her head, "why did I have to go and qwak...its not like someone like him would ever even take interest in a human to start!!"

She would sigh as she stood there and would glance back towards the picture, her green eye first showing and then as the wind blew her golden one showed...slightly glowing and she would bit her lip. "Grandma told me not to....specialty in a busy area.....but....." she glanced at the time. "damnit! im going to be late" with a deep sigh she would shake her head. "fuck it!...i need to get to class" she would grip her bag before closing her eyes. Her lips began moving but no words truly began to be heard only quick sounds, as the wind picked up and then began to wrap around her. People turning in shock and in awe as the human girl began to levitate and then suddenly take off just above the cars as she smiled, "I love magic......and sorry grandma...just this once..." she stated laughing a bit as she used the wind to move.

Magic a rare ability when it comes to humans, most have only small traces of it allowing them to do simple things. In the past priests and priestess's were able to use their magic in either talisman, rosary, charms, etc... imbuing the object with a small bit and then unleashing it for the task it was meant for. However, as time went on and yokai and humans moved on together that power became less as it was no longer needed as much. Still some retain the small abilities, some still practice the teachings within shrines and temples but it is rare when a human is born with a surplus. Allowing them to do more than just charms and simple wards.....such traits show themselves with a single 'marker' gold eyes the same as many daiyokai....the connection between human and yokai and one that many fear and desire...

Noise. Lights. Meetings. All of it felt like a huge bother when you've lived life hundreds of times over in the same body. That was the daily frustration of Sesshoumaru Taisho. The number one premier bachelor and business extraordinaire who had launched a successful business modernizing the technology is the countries under his father's territory making them much more successful than those of neighboring nations. However for the man who had everything he still needed something. He just wouldn't know what that something was until today.

As Sesshoumaru sat in the backseat of his private limo idling in traffic, he paused as he took notice of a change in the winds around him just to see a young college girl suddenly take off into the air riding the winds much like he used to in his youth *That's something you don't see everyday. And that outfit is from the university my company sponsors...*he said before lowering the partition where an attractive demoness sat in the front driving the car "Yes Mr. Taisho?"his long time personal assistant asked "Change of plans" he spoke in his low stoic tone "Cancel my meetings for today and let my father know. While you're doing that, follow that flying girl"he said pointing as the wheels immediately pulled off in chase to the girl while the phone calls were made as Sesshoumaru sat back eyes trailing the girl with a curious spark

Kaguya continued to move, her gold eye glowing brighter as she kept channeling the wind around her. It was an easy feat when she had been practicing since she was rather young, her grandmother a shrine maiden who had passed on the skills to her a strong sense of magic that connected them to their ancestors who had even had many of the greatest. However, when it came to such traits many wanted it for themselves and many times in history her family had learned the harsh truth when it came to those 'seeking' their aid....so for the last few decades her family had kept their secret using it only to ensure that the power did not grow beyond their control and maily using it for rituals and traditions. Kaguya on the other hand was unlike many of her family, desiring to live as free as the wind itself if it had been during the times of the warring era...she would have fit right in but now...that was beyond the case.

It took a matter of moments before she soon got to the collage campus and as her feet hit the ground she started running, "going to make it so going to make it!" she told herself, the wind dieing down no longer needed to aid her as she soon heard the large clock tower going off. "Oh come on!!!....you damn clock you have to be going fast!" she yelled, other students moved around the campus it was a typical place as other students late for their own classes could be seen rushing about as she soon pushed open the door to her class. With a heavy and quick sigh she took a seat just before the professor walked in and she groaned "made it..." she stated breathing heavily, though her hair was a bit of a mess as was her uniform at least she got to class.....which was on history a rather sore subject for Kaguya...since history was so boring!!

The campus itself was more of a private university, still open to the public and so long as the students earned high marks in high school or earned a scholarship could they enroll. It accepted all races, humans, yokai or even half yokai's it did not matter as they did not wish to be prejudice. As some universities still separated themselves, this was one of the few that marketed to all. It was known as West University, simple and of course their 'symbol' was that of the moon like most of the schools and such in the Western territory. Even with countries having divided up the lands....people still followed the old traditions and laws...of the four territories.

“And with four minutes to spair. That’s a new record for you.” Said a silken voice. There stood Yazuma, a fellow student of the university and was a crow Yokai from a far north western clan that originated from the mountains. Her inky black hair was a stark contrast to her ashen skin, giving her her an almost undead appearance. Her red eyes hlibt d playfully as she tossed a wrapped bun at her, “here...figured you might have missed breakfast again.”

“Missed breakfast and broken 100 rules to get here on time.”came a voice on the other side as Shiro Kamikage chimed up. He was a young man with psychic abilities that was born right there in the city. It was said his family used to be descended from a pairing from a wandering monk and a demoness. “You’re going to be called to the office.” He stated and as if on cue an announcement was made on the overhead “Attention All Stuents. We have a special announcement. We have a special guest visitor today. Our founder and primary beneficary Mr. Sesshoumaru Taisho will be exploring the campus grounds today, so if you come across his path, pay your respects and get out of his way!” Said the school’s Principal Jaken “Also...will Kaguya report to the Principal’s office.....again.”he said before hanging up

“Told ya”Shiro said grinning pushing his pure white hair out of his violet eyes “Good luck”

She would catch the bun and would be in the process of unwrapping it when she heard Shiro as she glanced at him, "oh quit gripping Shiro.....no one got hurt AND its not like I went over board, I just flew no big deal yokais used to do it all the time and we also don't complain to the ones who still do to this day" she said taking a bite out of the bun thanking Yazuma with a small mouthfull. Though as she was in the middle of taking another bite that's when they would hear the announcement, she blinked a few times when she heard about a Taisho of all people showing up here. Though she was some what ignoring it till she heard her name and paused, before sighing as she swallowed the bite of food "Welp....Shiro I'm counting on you for great notes like always...." she grabbed her bag waving to Yazuma "thanks for the bun....ill get your lunch today" she smiled to her friend.

After all this was just an everyday thing for her, she was carefree after all who wouldn't be in a world where yokai existed, magic was everywhere (to a point) and you could pretty much do anything within the rules...again to a point. She was still eating the bun when she got to the office, the secretary just waved her back "He's back there....what did you do this time?" the women asked, "I don't know...I got here on time didn't I?" she had another mouthful when she opened the door without knocking and as she finished it she spoke "Did ya miss me already Mr. Jaken?" still holding the breakfast bun in her other hand as she smirked some staring at the little green imp.

"What do you think she'll be in trouble for this time? She technically wasn't tardy so it couldn't be that...maybe using magic in public again...I mean that's bad but usually not enough to warrant a call to the Dean's office...hmm" Gin said to Yazuma not really paying attention to the teacher "Wanna go be nosey and spy on her like usual?"

Jaken wasnt his usual croaky self today as he nervously motioned for her to sit down as the door closed behind her as two large youkai dressed in black suits stood watch as Sesshoumaru finally let his presense be felt as his glimmering gold eyes pierced her soul as her eyes fell onto his "Hello there."he said "Im going to assume you already know who am I, and what I represent. What you dont know is what you're doing sitting here before me, hm? I'm covering all the bases so far? Now let me give you that information that you're missing but first I'm going to ask you one question and one question only. Why can you ride on the winds? That talent is a gift uniquely reserved for my clan's bloodline, yet I witnessed you doing it this afternoon. How?"

With Kaguya headed to the dean's office the teacher had more or less just marked her as there but called away, the class started like normal though the chatter of the news that not only the founder but the main benefactor of the school was there. A Taisho one of the leading clans of the four territories, it was a rather big deal and a lot of people where already on their phones attempting to see just where he was and if they could get a good picture of one of the most powerful and influence people in the world....

Kaguya looked at the small toad not sure exactly what was going on till she moved to take a seat, but as she did thats when the door shut. Turning her head she glanced back towards the two men that stood there and then she felt it, a chill ran down her spine as she looked to the side and there he sat.....the one and only hottest bachelor and business man Sesshoumaru Taisho. Her one blue eye the only thing he could see as her golden one remained hidden beneath her hair, at his question she blinked a few times glancing at Jaken who didn't even look up. She was almost speechless as his eyes bore into hers, searching for something that even he could not grasp.

Though she had to be dreaming as she sat there, one of the hottest men in the world sat not even two feet from her and she had a honey bun gripped in her hand and some of its contents stuck to her teeth; she had to look the picture perfect frumpy college student in history at this point. Shaking her head to snap out of her daze, she swallowed what ever was left of her breakfast and cleared her through, "I...can control elements?" she stated more like a question, she wasn't sure if that was going to be a good enough answer for him but she had been able to do it from a young age. "I...really don't know what else to tell you um....Mr...Se.....Uh...do I call you Mr. Taisho or something? Lord....uh....sorry this is kinda the first time meeting a youkai with um....your status not sure what the protocol is..."

“Like we were going to go to class?” Yazuma said and smirked as she opened her uniform shirt and tied it around her waist. She wore a loose fitting tank top underneath for modesty, but would get in trouble again if her uniform shirt was ripped...as her wings when unfurled would do. By magic, her wings became tattoos when not in use. They were black like her hair and almost dragged the ground. “Need help up or can you manage?”

"I can manage"Gin said after his face popped back from drooling at the underboob on her tank top as he hopped onto her back reaching around cupping her boobs for support so he wouldnt "fall" as he liked to claim "Ready for takeoff captain!"he laughed teasing her "They are likely still in the Dean's office"

"Mr. Taisho is fine." Sesshoumaru said cooly as he sat back in his chair, his eyes never coming off of her. That familiarity. That scent. It was taking him back to a time long forgotten. That smell of dog....and a spider floating on the winds. A gift that Sesshoumaru only left for one woman worthy enough to control the winds as well as anyone in his family. Kagura. The loveless, passionate affair they had before her death was one he still remmebered fondly in his memories of an era long gone. "Control the elements hm? I sense a lie leaving your lips. Exactly how many elements can you control, girl?" He asked sharply drawing in everyones attention to that cool, steely gaze once more "And what exactly is your name?"

Kaguya was starting to really feel uneasy with how this man was just staring at her and that the dean wasn't even saying anything, the imp frozen almost to afraid to even look up. She shifted a bit in the chair and would try to inwardly calm herself after all this wasn't just a normal youkai like the ones she had always known...this was a Daiyoukai among the strongest in the world and there where only a handful that had that title. Though when he called her out on her lie she glanced to the side and would lightly scratch the back of her head a bit, "ya um.....about that...." she laughed a bit nervously, "its not so much as....all the elements as I kinda said....more like just one" she laughed a bit glancing back at him and felt his eyes locking on hers as he asked her for her name. "Oh um....its Kaguya.....Kaguya Hitsu...........its not that important of a name like say yours my...family's kinda like not known or anything just a simple...shrine family really we.....the main house is up in the mountains that's where I um....lived till a couple of years ago when I moved in with my grandmother here...so I could take advantage of your cities school system..."

At this point she was realizing she was rambling, why was she even telling him her whole life story it wasn't like it wasn't already on record here at the school. At least hinted at where she was from, who her guardian was, etc... the simple things. "Though I'm sure Mr. Jaken told you all that already...I mean its on file and I come in here a lot so he knows so much about me already...though um....wait why am I here again if I'm not in trouble? I didn't break any school rules and I wasn't tardy or disrupting class....I just....flew here which isn't against the law to fly! I see youkai's doing it all the time...Like Yazuma she's got wings so she flys around a lot"

Yazuma clenched her jaw and reached around and gave the side of his head a hard tap with her format. “Move your hands or loose them. You know the rules.” She said and once he was properly secured, she flapped her wings and up into the air they went.

Upon saying her name, Kaguya could see the heads her friends peaking over the windowsill, unnoticed by the imp or the Daiyokai. “Holy shit! That Sesshoumaru No taisho!” She said underbreath. “Kaguya, what did you do?” She mouth in the other side of the glass wide eyed

"Aww you're no fun. At least Kaguya lets me get a couple seconds" Gin laughed before looking over her shoulder "Holy shit it is him. Hold on, let's see if I can get a closer look" he said as he closed his eyes, putting on hand on the back of Yazuma's head and holding the other arm straight out as his eyes suddenly flashed before a mark suddenly appeared on one of Jaken's downcast eyes. Gin's psychic ability allowed him to dominate the weaker imp's mind and by being in contact with Yazuma she too could hear and see all the things Jaken could in the room.

"No, that is correct, it is not against the law to fly...if you have wings." Sesshoumaru started as the look on his face started to change, an amused smirk forming on his lips at her sudden racing pulse. He could hear her heartbeat as he snapped his fingers as one of the men brought over a glass pouring a blood red liquid into a crystal glass handing to him as those perfect lips took a smooth drink "But you don't have wings do you?" He asked with a "gotcha" tone in his voice "A long time ago, when the four lands were formed, each daiyoukai family got a dominant element to preside over as well. Do you know what happens to be my family's element? We are the dogs that run swift as the wind. No one has the power to ride the air except one. I gave the authority to travel the eternal winds to Kagura Onigumo. She was the only demoness to ever control the winds better than my own bloodline."he said taking on a look of nostalgia before it hardened again "And you, are of our bloodline. Uncover your other eye, girl." He then stated as he sat back sipping his drink once more

She gulped some when he said that shifting, her grandmother warned her of the laws and of course she had to go and just break one of those as she shifted trying to figure out what to say. Her lips parting and soon she flinched when he snapped his fingers glancing over as the two guards moved to simply pour him some wine...ya this guy had just all the damn power in the world to have two body guards just give him some damn wine. She then glanced to the side sighing heavily, till she jumped as she saw not only Yazuma but Gin as she went to mouth 'get out of here!' towards them but when she heard Sesshoumaru's next words she gulped.

"ya um....about that I mean....its not like I...hurt anyone...." she stated laughing nervously before gulping, but when he began to talk about the past she would almost groan she hated lectures like this how often did she hear Jaken give her one of these because of this that or the other....always something about Humans having to worship youkai's or something. She was almost half out of it till he mentioned that name, she dug her nails into her palms then as she bit her lip. Her grandmother hated that part of their family and because of her ability to control wind she was more like the demoness than her grandmother liked. Kaguya then looked towards Sesshoumaru as he ordered her to uncover her eye as she spoke "My name is Kaguya....only polite....same reason I'm not calling you Fluffy" but she raised her hand to push her hair back revealing the golden amber orb that matched his own. "Happy now?..."

“I don’t like this.” Yazuma whispered as she gripped the windowsill. “Should we do something? A distraction? Maybe the fire alarm?”

"Indeed" Sesshoumaru said as a mischievous smirk suddenly played on his handsome features as he then motioned to stand up as he reached into his inside blazer pocket pulling out a small card "Come to this address this evening at 7pm. Show the guard this card and he will let you pass. You can even bring your friends who have been listening through Jaken this entire time, and watching me from behind the window." He stated hearing the resounding thud of Yazuma and Gin dropping from the ledge as Jaken lifted his head as his eyes unclouded "Wha..?"he asked seeing Sesshoumaru standing to leave "Leaving already milord!? But you just got here!"

Sesshoumaru merely stared at Jaken for a moment before turning his attention back to Kaguya "You. Your friends. 7pm." He repeated as he then walked pff, his guards opening and closing the door behind him as Jaken looked at Kaguya "Wh-what just happened?"

Kaguya would let her hair fall back into place and she would glance to the side, after all her family rather not exactly honor the part of her family that the golden eye color came from and her grandmother had even once tried to convince her parents to have it...removed. Thankfully that didn't happen and she had both her eyes but at the same time her grandmother kept strict 'rule' over the young girl. However, she would let her attention go back to the matter at hand as she watched as Sesshoumaru suddenly would smile, it was a little....almost dangerous looking but at the same time she couldn't help but think it was also just a tad bit hot. After all, no one has ever so much as gotten a full on picture of the man smiling and in the ads it was just barely a turn up of the lips making it a saught after 'thing' to get a picture of him smiling.

Of course that little day dream was crushed as he suddenly was pulling out the small card, she looked it over and would then look at him "um...ok...what exactly is this for?" she asked of course the man wouldn't tell her he was that...stubborn or just didn't want to at the time, but she soon glanced towards the window just as she heard a small 'thud' and saw her friends 'gone' but they where already made. How long had he known they where there but soon Sesshoumaru was leaving and Kaguya looked at the imp biting her lip before speaking. "Uh...Mr. Taisho has decided that your a wonderful imp and just wanted to have someone present to have it said and he had just thought I was a good choice because....I'm in here all the time and know you so well....so congratulations and....see ya!" she would then bolt out of the door knowing the imp would either buy it....or be confused either way she needed to find her friends.

She raced out of the building and around the corner towards where her friends had landed and she spoke "Yazuma!!....Gin....hey guys..."

“Kaguya.” Yazuma calmed back to her as she finished buttoning her shirt, her wings back in their tattoo form on her back. “So....do we go? I mean I’m pretty sure he’ll have a hunting party looking for us if we don’t but.....I don’t know about this.” She said and crossed her arms over her chest. “You guys know I don’t completely trust Dai Yokai. They hold that air of self importance and superiority over lesser demon clans.”

"Yeah and it's not just any daiyoukai we are talking about. This is Sesshoumaru Taisho. The most feared man in Western City....but....he knows that we know...so the best thing we can do is hear him out I suppose." Gin said to the girls as he then looked at Kaguya "When he made you uncover your eye..he said you're of his bloodline...is that true? Kaguya.....you're a Taisho.....do you know what that means?" He asked looking over at her "Everything is about to change isnt it? I saw a vision very similar to this and Im having an extreme case of deja vu right now. Sesshoumaru's car will he pulling around.....now" he said and as if on cue the all black limo could be seen pulling out of the school gates and down the road past them "Only thing to do is hear what he has to tell us though.."

Kaguya would sigh some as she stood there "Ya...but he's not exatcly that...scary.." she stated of course they both knew she ahd a small tiny crush on the man as she scratched her nose a bit. Though when Gin said that they should hear him out she blinked "your serious? you really wanna hear this man out?....he just more or less bullied me into showing him my eye Gin! My family all about shits themselves if I so much as angle my head wrong and someone see's it....and I'm not a Taisho I just happen to have a Gold eye that's it" she said quickly with a heavy sigh.

She let him just ramble for a moment even as the three of them watched that black limo pull off and she bit the inside of her cheek as she looked at Yazuma. "What do you think?...I mean it gets us out of class with an actual excuse since Mr. Jaken would die for that man."

“I’d rather take my exams.” She said as she watched the limo pass the gates. “But.... if it’s domething Gin says we should do... we should...he’s never been wrong before.” She said, “but if he says one more rude and condescending thing, I’m out.”

Gin laughed slightly "This is Mr. Taisho we are discussing. He's not exactly known for being 'nice' but I think we should do it. Sesshoumaru has shown an interest in you, golden eye or not. And we all know how you feel about him so why not go?" He said "Besides you got us too, whats the worse that could happen right?" He laughed

"that he manages to kill us and our bodies end up scattered and we are never seen from again?" She stated off handed as she sighed looking at the business card she had been given. "so we are to go to this place at 7 Sharp....and I think he'd rather us there early." she looked at her two friends ignoring Gin's jab at her about her crush and looked at Yazuma. "Just one night right?" she stated simply.

7pm would roll around and the three of them would head to the location that the business card had and looked up noticing the guard there and she would glance back at her friends. "He said to just show him this...." the three of them moved forward as Kaguya soon moved up to the guard who was giving them the eye as she soon held out the card. "I was told to just show you this."

The guard raised an eye brow at Kaguya after looking at the slip of paper. He lifted his cuff to his lips and spoke into the com attached, “three entering front entrance. Escort requested.” He said and handed the slip of paper back to Kaguya. After a moment, a woman walked out wearing a very nice form fitting dress suit walked up to them, “welcome. Mr. Taisho has been expecting you. My name is Ferra, Mr. taisho is personal assistant. If you would all follow me.”

Gin instantly started drooling and following behind ber "I'd follow you anywhere Ferra-san" he said though felt each of the girls tug him back by the ears "Ow, ow okay okay!"he groaned out

The group had ended up at the gates of a large estate. All around them the smell of sweet grass and exotic trees gave the grounds the look of a kempt wilderness. However once they crossed the grounds the large mansion could be seen with workers moving about their happy day to day lives. Despite the gossip of how ruthless and coldhearted Mr. Taisho was, people under his employment couldnt be happier with their pay, benefits and lifestyle as long ss they stayed out his way and did as told.

The group was taken inside and down a private hallway to a set of double doors "This is Mr. Taisho's private study, he is expecting you inside. Thank you Ferra" said the guard posted outside the door "Please stay with the group while they are on the premises"
