Sixth Sense

As the gates opened granting access into the first division as a young man with long purple hair tied in a high ponytail as traditionally worn by those of the noble Shihouin House and wearing the uniform of a member of the Stealth Force of the 2nd Division came to stop at another door marked with the symbol for the 1st Division where he could already feel powerful reiryuoku, the spiritual pressure, of the Captains inside as he pushed open the doors stepping inside where 12 people stood on each side of an old, bald headed man leaning against his wooden cane as he began speaking "Today we are here to bear witness to a Captain Proficiency Test. Will the Captain who has selected this nominee please step forward and introduce your candidate."the man said as immediately to his right a short blue haired woman wearing a gold lined haori with the 2nd Division mark on her back stepped forward "I, Soifon have chosen this candidate Head Captain Yamamoto. He is the 23rd Head of the Shihouin noble family which by right makes him the rightful holder of Commander and Chief of the Stealth Force, however all this time he has served as my 3rd seat."she started off "Yushiro Shihouin, 3rd seat of the 2nd Division, you have been selected to demonstrate your abilities in order for your ascension to Captain of the 5th Division, are you ready to begin? You must demonstrate proficiency in all 4 areas of a Shinigami, Hakuda, Kido, Hoho and Zanjutsu. Are you ready? Since this is the first Captain's exam after our former Captains' defection this will be conducted a bit different. First, demonstrate the highest level of Kido can perform at the target behind you"she said as Kei turned around holding his arm straight out "Hadō #88. Hiryū Gekizoku Shinten Raihō" he said calmly however a very large destructive blast immediately exploded from his palm completely destroying the target but evaporating as it reached the reinforced wall behind it, clearly used to taking the abuse of former exams as Soifon nodded her head before suddenly vanishing appearing next to him as he vanished too after she attempted to touch him as the two continued going around the room at rapid speed much to the surprise of the other Captains. Amongst the 13 of them Soifon was definitely the fastest and most skilled at hand to hand combat and almost as if on cue, the two began rapidly exchanging blows at the same lightning fast tempo as they moved around the room "They've already exceeded 200 flash steps" Mayuri Kurotsuchi of the 12th Division said in surprise "But I suppose that is no surprise seeing who his older sister was and what family he hails from."he said "The Shihouin practically invented the Shunko or the Flash Step"he continued to the group who seemed to murmur in agreement except for one Byakuya Kuchiki, who was also taught the flash step by his former idol and previous Captain of the 2nd Division Yoruichi Shihouin, Yushiroi's older sister who abandoned her position as Captain of the 2nd, Commander-in-chief of the StealthForce and as Princess being the 22nd Head of the Tenshiheisōban, the formal name of the Shihouin Clan. That title was now taken by Yushiro the 23rd, since his sister still had not formally returned to the Seireitei after the events following Aizen's departure.

As Soifon and Yushiro jumped back from each other she returned to her spot and Yushiro reached behind him pulling out a kodachi bladed zanpaktou that was tucked behind him for stealth and defense as he began his demonstration of his shikai "Scream, Chishinaru"he commanded as a deafening high pitch screech filled the room causing most of the Captains to wince or falter and the walls to shake as he controlled the waves of the sound in different directions before he mouthed the word "Silence" and the screaming stopped, but so did any and all sounds coming from Yushiro as he began mouthing something but no one could hear his words until suddenly they sounded like they were coming from right behind each one of them in a soft whisper though Yushiro was still standing directly in front of them as his words could be heard loud and clear as if in their brain "The activation of Chishinaru's shikai puts all who hears Chishinaru's deathly wail under the my auditory control. You lose your sense of sound, and you only hear, what I want you to hear, so do you trust what you hear, or what you see? Remember I am a master at flash stepping and if you take your eyes off of me for an instant it could be your life. Bankai. Sing, Chishinaru Kakyoku, the Song of Death"he said as suddenly the room grew dark and the air grew thin as multiple footsteps could be heard all around the room as the room grew devoid of all sensation, taking away all sensory information, a perfect technique for someone in the stealth force and typical for a candidate for the 5th Division Captain whose last two former Captains had Zanpaktou with the power to manipulate illusions. Light suddenly flooded back into the room to show that each Captain's Zanpaktou had been taken off of their belts and laid respectfully at their feet as a sign of understanding though he hadn't looked like Yushiro had moved an inch as the other Captains bowed their head respectfully in their decision and he bowed back "To be respectful, any time I sheath Chishinaru it cancels out the effect of the spell, but I do not rely on her often, she is a very mopey Zanpaktou and doesn't like to be bothered often because she usually kills whoever she plays with and it depresses her more."he said to the group as Yamamoto then stepped forward handing him a folded haori "Congratulations. Here is to our newest Captain, Yushiro Shihouin of the 5th Division."he said as Yushiro proudly took the short sleeved Haori and threw it over his shoulders grinning happily much like his sister in typical Shihouin fashion

*One Week Later*

Yushiro lay flat on his back covered in piles of paperwork and he kicked his feet on the ground slamming his fists having a somewhat tantrum, somewhat meltdown "THIS DIVISION IS IN SHAMBLES!"he screamed loudly shaking the walls. It seems his Zanpaktou wasn't the only one with a "deathly wail" as those in his office began working at double speed as he sighed letting out a deep breath as his door slid open as Momo Funamori, the current Lieutenant of the 5th Divsion and Captain Hitsugaya entered his office as Yushiro looked up from a pile of paperwork "Captain Hitsugaya?"he asked curiously as the other Captain sighed "I tried to stop her, but she insisted on leaving the hospital to meet you herself."he said "We've been friends since childhood and even I can't stop her when she puts her mind to something." "I see, well it's nice to see you Lieutenant Funamori, however, you are on orders to take it easy until you fully recover. As such, I have been holding auditions to get us some assistance around here so far I haven't been lucky but I have a good feeling about this next one. She's one of the lower seated officers, she graduated from the Academy not to long ago, maybe she'll have some potential. In the meantime, you rest. That's an order. Captain Hitsugaya will kindly escort you back."he said all before Momo could say a word as she stood there stunned for a moment looking at him before Toshiro mouthed a 'thank you' before guiding her back as Yushiro collapsed onto his large pillow again letting out a sigh "I hate to be so strict with her, but I was told what happened with her and Aizen, that's rough for anyone to go through. Anywho it's almost time to go on patrol now that I mention it, someone should be showing up any minute."

The Seireitei was a place that one could at least find some sort of purpose within the Soul Society, specially someone like Koharu...she had left the outside 'world' of the Rukongai and the dangers that resided within it. The Rukongai is divided into 320 districts, each numbered in descending order on how far they are from the center; this results in the higher-numbered districts decaying into slums. Thus, while District 1 is peaceful and lawful, much like the antiseptic lifestyle of early-Edo Era Kyoto, District 80 is a hardscrabble, violent, crime-infested area that more depicts Heian era Kyoto. The duties of the Gotei 13 Divisions include defending allocated districts of Rukongai. The living standards in Rukongai decline sharply beyond the fiftieth district, with an increase in people wearing rags and no footwear. The Rukongai is full of families that are not related by blood. People die at different times and places, and it is rare for a person to find their real family in the vast Rukongai. When a soul arrives in Soul Society, they are given a ticket according to the time they died and are sent off in different directions. Even if two people were to die together, if they do not receive tickets at the same time, they will not know where the other is. These 'slums' or District 70 that she escaped having arrived as a child having 'passed' from the human world such as the name of the world they reside in; Soul Society.

She was only able to leave due to the academy that allows Souls to train and become Shigami and protect the human world and the Soul Society. The Academy was once called the Shinigami Academy. It was then changed to the Spiritual Arts Academy when it developed into an institute for the next generation, however, it is still referred to as Shinigami Academy in Rukongai. It's a sprawling, multiple story building with architecture similar to that of Seireitei. It has an open courtyard, many classrooms, dormitories and practice areas for Zanjutsu, Hakuda, Hohō, and Kidō. The commandment all Shinigami are taught at the Academy is "Do not seek beauty in battle. Do not seek virtue in death. Do not make the mistake of considering only your own life. If you wish to protect that which you must protect......slice the enemy you must defeat from behind." The Academy does not teach students to fight for the sake of their superiors or family, it is instead to teach Shinigami give their life to protect their friends and humanity.

Koharu is a decent enough Shinigami that she was able to become a seated officer, it paid decently enough or at least gave her a standard of living she wasn't used to having considering were she came from. Shaking her head, she would look up from some of the paperwork she had as she would turn to look at the time "That's right...I have patrol with the new captain..." she said softly and would soon push herself up, she only applied to become a lieutenant after a few friends more or less 'forced' her to saying that though she tried not to stand out...she did have talent and should at least prove it to herself that she was worth more than just being a simple officer. Making sure she had everything she would step from her office and started making her way towards the new 5th captains quarters, after everything that happened things were still getting cleaned up from Aizens betrayal but she was still in the academy training when that was happening and had become a low rank seat officer just a little bit ago. Brushing her hair from her face, revealing only one eye as the other was hiding behind her bangs of her green hair and moving towards his office.

Being so close to captains she could since the power here, and it started to make her feel uneasy as she took a deep breath before moving up and soon knocked before entering. She had on the traditional uniform with her sword hanging at her side as she would speak "Captain Yushiro? I'm Koharu Sune you requested that I go on patrol with you today" she said, her voice soft and almost unnoticeable but that was kinda her thing....being unnoticeable.

Yushiro paused hearing something faint around him as he looked up from his paperwork to see a green haired Shinigami standing in his doorway "I'm sorry did you say something to me?"he asked as he then stood up to face her "You must be the one who is escorting me today then yes? Koharu Sune you said? I am Captain Shihouin, Yushiro is my first name"he said smiling as he walked over to her and she could see that the man was as tall as he was strong with well defined arms and chest showing from his sleeveless shihakusho and haori, the typical shinigami attire and the haori worn by the captains. "You are quite the soft spoken one aren't you?"he said though still had a cheery smile on his face "It's my turn to go out to patrol the human world again, usually it's been very routine, so just stay relaxed and everything will be alright."he told her as he walked out with her guiding her as they headed to the Sekaimon, the gate that connects the Soul Society to the Human World and vice versa, though authorization is required in order to transverse between the two. As they arrived, members of the kido corps recognizing his Captain's Haori instantly fired up the gate as a black winged butterfly floated down in front of them leading them through the gate, safely passing them into the human world

Once they passed through the gate they were standing on top of a large building looking out over the city "I know that when you were in the Academy was probably the last time you've come to this side of the gate, but remember, we are in the Human World now, and while they cannot see us, they can still feel our effects. My power as Captain has been limited to 20% as a safety precaution so our spiritual pressure doesn't cause a stir in the natural balance of things. We don't want to attract any attention to ourselves, be that human or hollow."he said before he could hear the sirens of an emergency vehicle blaring off in the near distance as he sighed "Someone must have gotten into an accident...let's go make sure their soul passes safely through to the other side, you know how to perform a konso correct?"he said before pausing as the sky suddenly darkened around them as a Garganta, a black space similar to the Sekaimon, but used by Hollows began to split the sky above where the sirens were coming from and opened revealing a bunch of white masks "Gillian!?"Yushiro said shocked "Koharu, get over to that accident and see just what the hell is going on! I'm going to stop these hollows from attacking whatever is down there."he said before vanishing in a flash step appearing in front of the large hole "Bakudō #73. Tozanshō" he said as a large pyramid made out of blue light was erected around the barrier sealing the hollows inside, though they began to slam against the barrier as more and more were still pouring out from the hole in the sky

"Have a good day." said a young woman as she handed off the hot beverage to the man that ordered it. The young woman appeared to be roughly into her 20's. He hair was cut short and white, naturally as she often said to others for it was strange to see a young girl with white hair that hadn't been treated. Her eyes were also a strange color. A mixing of amber and purple that would make the person starring into them think of the setting sun against the darkening sky. "Four o'clock Shoka. You can head on home now." Said the other person behind the counter, wearing the same dark green apron and owner/manager of the coffee and book shop where she worked. "Thanks for all your help today."
"Sure thing, glad to help." She said as she grabbed the tip jar from the counter and began to divide the contents for her and others working that day. "Hey, just checking, but did Kazo talk to you about this weekend?"
"Yeah he did, thanks for coming in. you know you work to hard....i can get someone else to cover that shift. When was the last time you had a day off huh?"
Shoka gave a tired chuckle. "Its alright, really, I don't mind. Besides id just sit at home and think about work anyway."
"your a good kid Shoka....but you need to take sometime to do something for yourself you know? Go shopping...see a movie....maybe even take a class or something i dont know....maybe even just take a day to figure out what you wanna do with your life and figure out who want to be."
"Wow, you got real serious there for a moment Daki. Did it hurt?" She teased and pocketed her tips and began to remove her apron while moving into the back of the shop to grab her bag and bike.
"Hey i only want you to take char of yourself. That too much to ask?"
"Nah...Its sweet Daki. But I'm fine. Besides, why would I want to do anything else? I like working here and with you guys. Cant imagine where else id rather work. " She said and tarted to head out the back door. "I'll see you tomorrow."
"fine....Have a good night Shoka."
"You too." And with that final good bye, and clocking out for the day, Shoka took her bike off the sidewalk and began to peddle her way home.

Home for Shoka was a cheap one room apartment that she was able to afford after she was deemed old enough to take char of herself. Shoka had no parents...found in a dank ally on a cold raining morning, crying her tiny lungs out.
Since then shes always been alone, save for the very few friends she made at work or in her building, but nothing that was super serous. oh, and the crow that seemed to follow her around where ever she went. He showed up one day when she was a kid, started bringing her random little trinkets and shiny baubles that he found. She'd feed him and leave her window open for him at night. That's how it always been and he was her oldest friend.
And though, to others she would admit to, that's how life was for her, but that wasn't so....there were others that she could see. Spirits. Ghosts. The un-dead.....what one chose to call them, there they were. she wouldn't go up or speak to them anymore since being see talking to yourself makes you 'Crazy.' It was something she discovered completely by accident when she was much younger and still living at the orphanage. possible parents had come in that day and all of the children were excited. It was recess and all of them were out playing while the adults wondered around and talked or played with the children as well. Shoka was playing with a ball with a few other kids and a few of the adults when she missed her chance to catch the ball and it went behind a small grouping of trees and bushes. She ran after it to get it back and continue the game when she came across a boy about her age. She had started to talk to the boy, asked if he was new to the home and asked if he wanted to play. but as they talked, one of the adults had come over to see what was keeping her there and she tried to explain the boy that she was wanting to play.
he became very upset when the adults told her no one was there and that she wasnt lying or making it up.
Needless to say no parents were interested in her that day or any day since. The other kids in the home laughed and teased her till it was relativly forgotten about or the kids went away. She stayed quite, never went around the boy that only she could see ever again and remained alone.

Shoka was alright though. She was content with her loneliness and went about her life as normal as she could. on her way back to her apartment and stopped to get groceries, after paying for her items, she came back to her bike to find her feathered friend waiting. "Hey pretty boy...how you doing?" she asked with a soft coo as she put her items in the basket. she gave the bird a gentle stroke on the head before he cawed and flew off, seconds before a sudden blast knocked her away from her bike and onto the grounds

Koharu would shift a bit nervously as he just seemed to look around having not heard her, it wasn't the first time nor would it be the last time someone 'overlooked' her quiet nature, though at the correction of his name, she would shift some how could she have called him by his first name and not by his official one. "Yes, sorry Captain Shihouin" she stated slightly bowing her head towards him after he formally told her his name. Soon she was following him, and moving through the gates, her own experiences had placed her not having been to the human world for awhile though she was an officer she wasn't permitted to go there, though unless she was aiding another such as the case was here now. "Routine sounds like a simple task then...are you sure you'd need my help?" She asked as they neared the gate, her one visible eye moving to the black butterfly before they were standing on the roof, her hair whipped back by the wind showing both eyes for a moment before settling down.

Koharu turned her head to him as he explained a few things, it was common sense that as spirits they couldn't interact with the living world and to keep things in balance it was natural to be limited. The sound of the sirens was the next thing to reach her ears and her attention went to it as he asked about performing the ritual to safely let a spirit pass on."A konso sir? Yes it's pretty much a standard thing to learn before coming here...and that its one of the main jobs we have...when caring for a spirit" though as she spoke softly the calmness to the air was soon gone with the sudden explosion as she saw the large garganta appeared suddenly the routine patrol was far from that. Her heart races but she knew what she had to do as she would race towards the accident the sounds of people yelling but her eyes went to a girl, a crow flapping its wings in panic as she moved to her.

If the woman was awake at all she would probably see Koharu moving towards her, her green/black colored hair flowing around her, while the black and white uniform she wore would remind her of an old-school samurai. Koharu would kneel down as the crow would continue to flap its wings, almost trying to peak at her and protect its friend. "Fly on little one." Koharu said trying to get the bird to flee knowing it could see her as her hand went to check on the girl. "Still alive..." she said with a sigh of relief but that was soon ended when another shock-wave was felt and another hollow appeared. Her eyes widened and all she could do was stand up and draw her zanpakuto, she knew the only way to even defeat a hollow was to shatter its mask....but that was a feat that multiple shinigami did not just one lone semi-decent officer could handle.

However, she had a job to do...to protect the souls here in this realm that she would steel herself before calling out to the 'creature' "you will not have these souls!" She called out to it but it didn't seem to phase it one bit as it would turn its head towards her, looking on at the fleeing 'souls' as well as the one girl that Koharu stood over with her sword outstretched, though that seemed to do little as it would soon release a hollow flash. A large burst of energy that koharu knew she wouldn't be able to block it but she stayed in place, her zanpakuto could at least deflect some of it but as she did her weapon would hum before the blast reached them.

The hollow flash would do a great deal of damage, rocks, dirt, rubble, etc... that had gotten caught was tossed over, leaving a large crater the smoke began to clear, were Koharu stood over the girl there was little damage as because standing over koharu and the girl was a large white fox with a blue marking upon its forehead, the very air was also becoming cold and chilled where ones breath was easily seen, as the hollow would 'roar' loudly at it. The fox growled in return, glancing down at Koharu who was breathing heavily due to the heavy strain that a bankai release needed, but the fox would waste little time before suddenly attacking becoming pure white almost like a flash of a blade tip as it struck the hollow mask....cracking it and forcing the hollow to fall back as the large fox jumped back standing protectively over its master.

Yushiro had just finished dealing with the Hollows that had he had sealed from the first garganta before he suddenly felt a large pressure going off behind him after seeing a large explosion as he quickly paled realizing what direction that the blast had come from "Koharu!"he said worriedly as he vanished quickly running off in her direction only to come to a complete stop on the street before them staring in complete shock and awe at the large fox that was currently standing in front of him as he held out his index finger in front of him pointing at the hollow "Hado #4. Byakurai"he said calmly as a large bolt of lightning erupted front the tip of his finger completely disintergrating the hollow as he slowly approached Koharu and the fox, noticing the woman on the ground behind Koharu looking completely stunned as he paused "Koharu....your....bankai?....How is this possible?"he asked stunned before looking down at the woman behind her "Koharu.......is it just me....or is this woman looking directly at us?"he asked as he fully faced her "Lady.....can you understand me?"he asked still trying to wrap his head around the whole situation that just unfolded in front of him

Shoka started in shock at them. She had seen plenty of spirits in her time...but nothing like this. She had never seen the strange beast before...not these sword wielding man or woman....Around her people panicked and sirens wailed in the distance as police and ambulances rushed to the scene. The people ran around them in seeing of the monster or the sword baring pair, shouting about a possible gas explosion or bomb.
The crow over head cawed again as the, thought dispatched, monster mover and lunged for them. "Look out!" Shoka called as the crow dove toward them. In a flash of light, the crow had vanished and shoka was standing with a sword in hand.
The sword in her hand was the length of a typical sword, it curved toward the tip of the blade and was silver save for the black wing that made up the blade itself. Now behind them was the beast cut in half.

Koharu was breathing heavily the initial strain of a bankai was something she never dealt with as she looked out watching as the fox beat back the hollow, only for it to be sent back even further by Yushiro. Everything was almost like a blur, she couldn't focus right and she would look at him as he asked his question seeming to be stammering over his words in shock. "Bankai..." that's when the words seemed to resonate with her as she looked up at the fox...till now he had only been a small spirit appearing sometimes "Orichi....how..." but she would soon look back at the captain as he was soon looking back at the women she had just saved.

Could this women see them? That would almost be near impossible considering one had to well...be dead right? But before Koharu could ask her own question the raven would caw flapping its wings and before the two sword wielding duo could do anything the women moved. The hollow having some how survived having attempted to strike while they weren't looking only to be slain by a human. Koharu's one visible eye stared out in shock, as she looked from the women to Yushiro then back to the fox (orichi) "this...is fair from a routine patrol..." she stated her voice still soft but easily heared in the awkward moment between them all.

"That would be the understatement of the century."Yushiro said still in complete shock and surprise as the human woman before him not only wielded a zanpaktou but also managed to destroy a hollow that would have surprised even him with that attack. "I am almost at a loss for words.....between you activating your bankai, and this woman activating shikai, there is a lot of unexplained things going on and Yamamoto is going to have a field day when he reads my report. This is far from routine."he said as he then turned to face the woman again "I suppose I should start with the more pressing of the two matters. You, woman with the crow and the sword, what is your name?"he asked coming to stand in front of her next to Koharu "And why is it that you wield a zanpaktou without the consent of the soul society?"he said though could easily tell that she looked as confused by this as the rest of them as he sighed deeply

Shoka stood shocked as she looked back at what she had done. She looked to her hands and over the sword that had appeard her hands began to shake as she turned to the man and woman whine stood starring at her. "Shikai? Soul society? I...I don't....wh...wha..." suddenly her eyes began to blur as the sudden use of energy took its tile on her and she collapsed on the ground, the sword clattering beside her. From the sword, the shape of the crow emerged in a black haze and began to gently peck at Shoka to try and wake her

Koharu bankai still continued to strain her as Orichi would glance down at his master before shirnking to a point, moving back down to second release stage shikai as a smaller version of the fox landed on Koharu's shoulder watching out for the two. Though with the bankai no longer activated the pressure in the air seemed to disappear but Koharu was still straining some, but remained on her feet as she looked at the women. Her stammering over her words, the pure shock and confusion on her face made Koharu turn to Yushiro. "Sir...I honestly think she has no idea..."

However, when the women suddenly collapsed Koharu moved managing to catch her and hold her up. "Miss?" she stated in a small bit of panic but seeing the crow return told her she was still alive. Koharu's fox orichi would jump from her and soon meet up with the crow the two staring at each other some as if the fox expected the crow to attack. "I think we should head back sir...no other humans were affected and the longer she stays here....the more the chance for hollows to appear increases."

Yushiro sighed again as he picked up the sword handing it to Koharu as well "You are right, we don't need this incident to get any worse, besides, without you having a regulator and activating your bankai, there is already a chance stronger hollows are already making their way here."he said as he reached beneath his haori, pulling out his sheathed zanpaktou that was tucked on the back of his dark silver obi with the shihouin crest on it "Carry her through the sekaimon and put her in the 5th division medical wing, while I figure out what to do next."he said as his sword flashed briefly for a moment before he stabbed it into the air in front of him, however it passed through a black portal before it opened up allowing them entrance inside as a black butterfly appeared next to them to lead them through "You too crow"he called along behind him as he watched the crow follow him inside the gate as it closed behind him

The next thing they knew, the group had reappeared outside the Sekaimon gate in Soul Society as he scratched the back of his head "Alright....follow my orders, take her there, and do not explain anything to anyone until I get back....I need to go see Captain Yamamoto....unfortunately."he said as he gave Koharu a smile before vanishing again.

As he pushed opened the doors to the Captain's office in the 1st Division, Yamamoto was currently drinking tea with his lieutenant "Captain Shihouin, have you come to join my tea drinking ceremony this time?"he asked in good spirits, though as loud as ever as Yushiro sweatdropped "Not quite sir.....you see....there has been a bit of an incident....on this latest patrol, a swarm of Gillian-level hollows attacked a human girl...only to find out.....she wields a zanpaktou.......we have another....Kurosaki Ichigo problem..."he said as he immediately heard Yamamoto's teacup shatter and burn up into ash as Yushiro grimaced before hearing Yamamoto explode in curses and explicatives yelling up and down the Soul Society, well it wasn't going to be a secret for long anymore. He soon stepped out of the office letting out a sigh of relief at not being burned alive though he would have to tend an emergency captain meeting later as he then headed back to his division to check on the two women now placed in his care

Koharu woukd gently held the other women's sword hoping it would not be offended that another was carrying it for now, but it was somewhat necessariy as they would soon be heading back home. Her attention went to the crow who seemed fine passing through the gate and didn't even hesitate, "seeing how the women felt with ththe bird captain I have a feeling she's been connected to our world for awhile...." she said softly. This was by far a strange patrol as several things had already happened that would cause many to be on edge, with both UBS girl and herself.

Though Koharu would soon hear back to the 5th division as instructed, once there she passed the girl into the care of a nurse explaining nothing other than it was the captains orders. Koharu remained with the girl her hands shaking after all she had released a bankai and she had no idea what sort of trouble she had caused with that. So as of right now her calm, quiet world was now no longer any of that. Nor would the girl they rescued from the hollows world be the same either as she rested on a cot.

As she was leaving the infirmary, a black butterfly floated down coming to rest on her outstretched finger as Captain Shihouin's voice rang out clearly from the butterfly "My office, now."the butterfly said before flying off back in the direction of Yushiro's office where the man was sitting behind his stack of papers by the time she arrived as he motioned for her to have a seat. "Now....I need you to be very clear, and very honest with me...what happened in that fight? And why is it that one of my lowest seating officers, can activate a Captain level bankai? It was clear from the strain on your body and the foxes movements that you have no control over it, but the fact that it was activated is an impressive feat....and a potentially serious problem should you happen to lose complete control. There have been times where someone attempting to perform a bankai has used up all of their spiritual energy and permanently died because of the effort."he commented reading her face for her reaction

Koharu after being cleared by the doctors was allowed to leave the infirmary, she was still exhausted but had a job to do. However, those jobs had to wait as she saw the black butterfly and then the captains stern voice telling her to come to his office. Taking a deep breath she headed in that direction and before long she was sitting across from Yushiro and listening to his orders, she shifted a bit uneasy after all she didn't expect orichi to do that let alone reach bankai....it never once entered her mind that it was possible. Her one eye looked up at him, he could see that it wasn't something she was hiding and generally had no idea she could do.

"I promise captain I don't know....iv only been able to get Orichi to shikai before and even then he doesn't always want to listen....but what happened was the hollow was attacking with a hollow flash and I couldn't just leave the girl or those others to be wiped out....I figured at least with what little ability I had...I could at least block it long enough even if I died in the process....just before it hit I heard orichis cry and next thing I knew he was.....well you saw it...sir I'm sorry if I knew that I could have done that I would have alerted you or the others but I honestly didn't know orichi or myself were ready let alone in sync to bit bankai!"

"Well....."Yushiro said looking her over once before letting out a sigh "Let's just be glad, your bankai nor the hollow managed to kill you. I've seen enough bloodshed on my hands for one lifetime, I don't wish to be responsible for any more."he said as a dark look momentarily crossed his face before his typical happy smile was back in place "And as such, we are going to keep this our little secret, I've already had Head Captain Yamamoto yell at me six ways to sunday, if I was to disclose that a bankai was released without a regulator in the real world well.......I may not have my Captainship anymore."he said scratching the back of his head with a laugh "And also with that, we are going to be training together in order for you to master your bankai. The dangers of letting your zanpaktou release itself without your permission are very serious like I stated. Every morning at dawn you will be joining me in my sister's secret spot under Sokyoku Hill. I am also, as of today moving you up from 23rd seat to 3rd seat of the 5th Division, and you will be acting Lieutenant while Lt. Hinamori recovers. As such you will attend all Lieutenant meetings that she can not attend to represent the 5th. You will also be granted access to the Lieutenant's office next door being as only the first 5 seats can use it without special exceptions being made. Again, discrection is necessary, no one else needs to know that you have attained bankai as of yet."he told her strictly "Also, before I forget, after we are done here, I want you to report back to our guest and bring her to me as well the moment she is well enough to stand and walk. Before I take her to see Yamamoto I need to question her myself. Now, was there anything you'd like to comment upon?"

Meanwhile in the infirmary.....
"Shoka......Shoka?" it was dark, like a black nothingnesss around her and the voice echoed around her. "Shoka......you need wot wake up soon."
"Whose there?! Who are you?" She called into the darkness and a male figure appeared suddenly infront of her wearing a cloak of feathers and a giant bird skull head hiding his face.
"I am Jeteimaru. I am your spirit, or Bankai as known in this world."
"Bankai? I don't understand."
"That is why you must wake. The man and woman that saved you will explain all. And should you ever need me I am here to protect you as I always have since the day of your birth."

Before she could ask what he meant, everything began to fade as she began to enter into the waking world

Koharu sat there feeling like she was going to get some sort of lecture, after all she was really a 'nobody' having only gotten to be a low ranking officer by sheer luck because she could just do a few things others couldn't...but she didn't expect to suddenly be jumping to 3rd seat as she stared at him. "3.....3rd seat!! b...but Captain people are going to start questioning it! i....I'm no one, I came from one of the worst districts in the Rukongai" she stated quickly. Her hand raising up to push some of her hair from her face, after all this was....just all so much. She appreciated the effort for her to control her bankai but...to become acting lieutenant and 3rd seat was...well just a lot.

"I..." she shook her head, as she pressed her hand to her forehead trying to just think of how to get her head wrapped around this whole thing, first the girl they saved, then the whole her having a bankai release, just all this was just so much to take in. "I...im just a nobody Captain..." she said softly, confused and soon was standing up "I'll go check in on your guest sir..." Koharu would then turn and head back towards the infirmary still trying to get her head wrapped around this whole situation.

Yushiro shook his head letting out a sigh "This is all going to be such a hassle."he said to himself though couldn't help but smile a little "Well, it is true what they say, the 5th Division always has something interesting going on. From Shinji to Aizen, the Captain of the 5th always has their hands full with something"he said as he began filling out paperwork "That girl may have been a nobody before, but if another Captain finds out that a low seated officer has that kind of power...I don't want to think of the repercussions that could happen, better to keep her close to my side to monitor her progress."he said setting his pen down as he got deeper into thought "And what to do with this other girl......we don't just hand out shinigami badges to anyone.....perhaps she will also join the 5th Division after some formalized training, unlike Ichigo Kurosaki"

Shoka blinked her eyes open slowly, the light too bright as her eyes slowly started to adjust. She slowly started to sit up and turned to looked at the cot she was in when her hand felt something cold and metallic. She hand rested on the winged sword that had appeared in hands when....what it was...had attacked them in the streets.
She ran her fingers over the feathers when a caw broke the silence. She looked up at the cot beside hers and there the crow stood watching her.
"....Jeteimaru?" She tested and was right when the crow gave a birds equivalent of a bow.

"Oh is that his name? I was just calling him 'pretty bird'." Said a soft feline voice. A woman in black robes had come up to te foot of the cot, a black butterfly perched on her finger, "captain, your fury is awake." She spoke to it and it fluttered off

Koharu would step around the corner just as she saw the other women releasing the black butterfly to go and alert the captain, she paused some wondering if she should stay then but she would step inside looking over at the girl they just saved from the hollow. "I'll take care of her from here, at least till the captain arrives" she stated towards the other women then looked at the human. "How are you feeling miss?" she asked as she would grab a chair and pulled it close to the cot and looked at the zangpaktu on the bed. "lets move this off the bed for now" she reached out gently taking it and would lay it down on a table not far from her sight.

"I'm Koharu....one of the shinigami here in Soul Society and...um...i guess I really don't need to explain this stuff to you since you really don't know whats going on" she said looking back at her, her one viable eye on her. "I am sorry that you got pulled into all this...but what happened is something we take seriously and cannot let the situation get worse...what attacked you is what we call a hollow...a twisted soul that desires the souls of the living"

Yushiro had continued his paperwork as a butterfly silently fluttered in landing on his shoulder relaying the message as he stood up with a stretch "Thank god, I don't think I could sign another paper today"he said flexing his cramped hand as he then headed out of his office taking the quick walk over to the infirmary as he headed inside standing in the doorway observing Koharu and the woman before making his presence known "Koharu is correct. The fact that a hollow attacked a living soul, and the fact that you were able to produce a zanpaktou and activate your shikai, are not things that the Soul Society, this place that we are currently in, takes lightly. My name is Captain Yushiro Shihouin, I am one of the 13 leaders that keeps peace and preserves justice here in the Soul Society, and slays those monsters, the hollows, that attack humans in the real world. I have to ask you, do you have any connection to the Soul Society? It is highly irregular for a human to possess enough spiritual awareness to see a hollow, let along have a zanpaktou spirit manifested from them. Jeteimaru was it?"he said as he looked over a the crow now "You have allowed yourself to stay manifested, however as you know, in the human world, that will cause unwanted attention. You are back in the Soul Society now, you should be able to find your voice now Crow"

The Crow glared at Yoshiro before looking to Shoka. "Should you need me Shoka, just call out my name and I shall come." The crow said before llooking back at the Captain and giving a defiant caw before evaporating and merging once again with the sword.

After taking a moment to process the crow, Jeteimaru, vanishing, she shook her head to clear her thoughts before putting both feet on the floor and looking up at the Captain. "No....No I don't even know what the soul society is.....I mean I have been able to see the dead but never you....or that hallow...thing." she said as she sat there.

Koharu stood there watching, the girl clearly stating the truth at least just from the reaction she had to everything as she would then look to Yushiro "Sir, I honestly think she's just like...icchigo...shes got a heightened awareness..." she glanced at the girl again then back to the blade, it was a unique design and for it to remain in its released form was just another state of how powerful this girl was. "if we train her im sure things will settle out and an incident like earlier wont happen again."

"I'm more worried about another Kurosaki Ichigo incident over one that happened earlier"Yushiro said off to the side "We are still making repairs from the damage he and Aizen called when the latter defected and it's been awhile"he said sweatdropping "Captain Yamamoto is going to burn me alive when I tell him about this decision."he said taking a deep breath before turning to face the newcomer once more "We are not something that most people with a heightened awareness can see, you have exceeded that barrier and are now aware of our existence....from here, you have two options....train under me, learn to master your abilities and the traditions and customs of the Soul Society, Seireitei and Gotei 13, all of which will be taught to you, and which you will be properly paid for...or.....face execution."he said "And I am a former assassin, so I will deliver swift and painless death should that be the choice you make. Your soul will fully die, and you will end up out in the Rukongai just like all the other souls who do not qualify to become a Shinigami."he said with his still calm demeanor "I will give you a moment to weigh your options and decide, either way, simply returning to the human world is not an option anymore, I'm sure your Jeteimaru will be able to explain that one to you in private."
