Chance Meetings: The Sesshoumaru and MIaka Story

"Perhaps your father will know a thing or two, he has experience dealing with unruly children"Sesshoumaru said as he fixed his kimono "I sense your concerns over Luna, but I doubt she's going to want the child. You've been gone, but things have changed. She is constantly monitoring Yami's whereabouts and I believe trying to free Sol, though that would be foolish of her to do."he stated

"You're so mean"Yukine cried pounding on his chest playfully as she separated from him "Fine, be careful, let me know what's going on."she said as she moved off to her closet in order to change her clothes to see her sister and nephew

“Afraid I agree with her in that regard.” She said and stood as she removed the make shift sling. She gently laid Kai on the bed and move pillows around to keep him from rolling and squirming away. “If I may ask, since I was a little too distracted to do so before....what were you doing in my room? I understand it’s your palace and you may go where you wish and whenever you so please....but you cane in when I was asleep....why?”

"I wanted to see the boy" Sesshoumaru said simply, in all the chaos yesterday I only laid eyes on him for brief moments. I wanted a quiet opportunity to verify that the boy was mine. I am all but sure that he is now."he said as he gently touched the mark on his head. "I don't understand how you managed to suppress giving birth for so long, so I had my doubts. But it seems you have truly been loyal to me this entire time. I do no sense the presence of another man on you, and my son's aura purely radiates with my own. He is my heir apparent. It is hard to wrap my head around the concept that the woman who was supposed to give me a child so long ago, finally did."

“This may shock you, but never would I have betrayed you in that sense.” She said and looked at him over her shoulder. “I meant what I said yesterday my lord. Wether you want it or like it or not....my heart was always yours.” She said before turning away and looking to Kai again, pausing a moment to let silence settle between them again. “Would you like to hold him?”

Sesshoumaru paused hearing her question before turning his back "No, you should clean him off and get ready to go. I will be doing the same."he said before making his way out of the room as Kai was gently cooing on the bed watching his father walking out of the room

Miaka ran a hand over her face as she collected her self and looked down to Kai. So small and innocent. She ran her other hand over his forhead and the blood mark she put there Magicked itself away and she leaned down and kissed the boys forehead, “going to be quite the handful aren’t you?”

She soon had them both cleaned up and dressed with a servant escorting them to sesshoumaru so that Miaka couldn’t inform him of their departure

Sesshoumaru had gotten dressed and was currently sitting in his study as he saw Miaka and Kai enter the room "It seems you both are ready to go? Your sister's magic mirror is in the same room you saw her in last night. You have my permission to use it, you should understand the basic teleportation behind its use."he said "I will be summoning Lady Luna after you leave. For now I do not think it best you two talk about what has happened. Deal with your father first."he stated simply "Give the old man my regards."

Miaka nodded, “We will return before night fall.” She said and bowed her head to him and turned to go as Kai twin tails swished happily and he looked to his father with hands that happily grabbed at the air in his direction, reaching out for him still as his Mother turned and carried him away.

Back in the room she looked to the mirror and activated the spell. The mirror grew in size and its reflection ripples to reveal the gates to her home. She took a deep breath to steady her resolve before stepping through. A warm breeze and familiar smell of fruit trees caressed her cheeks. The sound of chatter and children’s laughter filled her ears and made Kai’s perk. The feeling of magic in the air made a shiver run down her spine and she looked to the Gates as a voice of a guard called out “Open the Gates. Lady Miaka has returned.”

The gates were quickly cast open as the palace stirred as their First Lady returned as Yukine quickly made her way to the front to greet her sister as she smiled "There is someone who can't wait to see the both of you--"she started before being interrupted as she caught a flash of the baby "Oh my! Is that him?! Isn't he the cutest thing? Whoever would have thought you and Sesshoumaru would actually have a cute kid...between us I had my doubts you know, but look at him"she beamed "Hi my little nephew"she smiled "And future Prince of the South"she added "Should you ever take your crown back that is."

Miaka surged forward suddenly and wrapped an arm around her sister to embrace her, mindful of Kai between them. “Yukine....I’m so sorry...for everything....” she said and pulled back enough to meet her sisters gaze. “No....I...I’m not worthy of my title....not after the shame and suffering my actions brought to our home and people....trust was lost with the empress....our god is locked in a prison of his own design that I helped make while a chaos god roams free....our people even stand devided and i....ruined everything with him.” She said softly and she didn’t need to say his name for Yukine to understand who she was speaking about. “But I hope to make up for some of it...the ...arrangement I have with Sesshoumaru will allow to be able to at least care for and raise Kai, which I’m hoping to find some answers here while we are visiting.”

Yukine smiled hugging her sister tightly in return but shook her head "Despite all you've done, you are still our first Princess. You will never lose love within these lands dear sister."she said before she sighed "Yeah I can imagine Sesshoumaru is no easy egg to crack. Layers upon layers of issues with that one"she laughed "But even if you don't take the crown back up for yourself, you got to consider the little one. He could be the crowned prince of an entire region! Think of the possibilities, especially with Sesshoumaru being the Lord Commander of the Imperial Army. The entire Southwest could all be Kai's"she pointed out "Speaking of answers, let's go see Father, I'm sure he'll have at least a couple for you"she said as she lead her back into the castle and up to their father's room

The old cat was currently resting in his bed but the minute the door opened his eyes snapped awake and he sat up briefly "Miaka?"he asked softly reaching out his hand "Oh my dearest kitten, it is you"he said with tears in the corner of his eyes

Miaka let her sister lead them through the gate and into their home. As babe walked, she heard the happy cheers of her return and calls of greeting. And felt the eyes of those that remained silent.
As she followed Yukine, she both felt and saw that quite a number of those they passed were not Neko Youkai....but were Angels turned Fallen much like Sabreal had. There were even children running around that were a mix of the two. One child that was with his mother had both wings and a fluffy tail.
Her curiosity would have to wait as she was pulled inside and hurried to their fathers chambers. One Miakas gaze fell on her father, ahenquickly but carefully passed Kai to his Aunt before running into her fathers open arms. Carefully she rushed into his embrace and hugged him close and buried her face his his shoulder. “I’ve missed you so much Father....can you ever forgive this stupid daughter?”

"Of course, there is nothing to be forgiven"Sekai said with a smile as the light seemed to return to his eyes as he pat the back of his daughter's head "All you did was make a choice my love, right or wrong, everyone is alive, so all we do is move forward."he said reassuringly "I have conversed much with the gods since you have left. Yami's plan was inevitable, Sol simply happened to be the one foolish enough to be manipulated into it, and you by extension. Yami's plan to do much the same with Luna's descendants was thwarted by your connection with Sesshoumaru, but the Lord of Chaos' treachery knows no bounds. Every closed door for him another one of opportunity opens."Sekai said shaking his head "You are simply the one that has to pay the price....yet....I can sense that light has been born anew. That young one I smell, bring him to me"he said as Yukine promptly handed over Kai

The elder cat gently took the boy whose markings began to glow once again as did Sekai and Yukine as the power of Mizen's energy between them began to boil to the surface as their aura flowed together and connected in the presence of the divine child as Mizen's power began flowing from Sekai into Yukine without causing either one of them pain

"Ah, I see, so you possess the power of the star child hm?"Sekai said to his grandson with a smile "Kai hm? Named after me I see"he chuckled seeming the most lively he had been in years "I am glad that this was how my end was met"he said as Mizen's energy continued pouring into Yukine, "I have something for you both"he said reaching into his robe and pulling out two crystal spheres "These are imbuned with my essence, knowledge and all my years of research. It is an index of anything you may ever need to ask me, and my spirit will reside in here, with each of you, always."he smiled

Tears filled miakas eyes as she witnessed the passing of Mizens soul and knew that now with out it, her fathers time would come and Yukine would finally be able to enter into her true power anew. Kai giggles and squirmed happily as he lay in his grandfathers lap.
“It was a choice that hurt many, and took much.....she said after she had sat back, her hands shakily holding the sphere he passed to her.

"I know it was kitten, many were affected, but it's not over. And light has been born again."he said as he smiled down at Kai "He is absolutely adorable, your mother was right."he told her "She foresaw this his birth you know? I think you were about 7 or 8 and she went to brush your hair and had a vision of your future. And you stood as Lady beside Sesshoumaru with your children. Kai is just the beginning, so do not fret my love. Remember what have I always told you? Persevere through all."he said to her

“But you know me father......I am my fathers daughter.....” she said as she held his hand. “But I wish I had been here.....I have never regretted the choice I made more then this moment...”

"Do not regret it. I will always be with you from here on out."Sekai said smiling "With both of you. Yukine, use this new power you have wisely. Do not let it consume you. Mizen's power and knowledge is very vast."he said as she nodded her head wiping a tear from her eye as he turned back to Miaka "I want you to be happy Miaka. Preserve that happiness at all costs, even if the world turns against you."he said smiling still "You've made an old cat proud. I can't wait to tell your mother all about it."he said

“Give her our love.” She said solemnly before leaning forward and kissing his cheek. Kais babbling softened as he watched the exchange, unsure of what was going on our understanding what was said, but he reached his hands up to sekai in a kind of grabbing motion.


In the Western palace, Jakken and Rin entered their lords study, “Everything is ready my lord, just as you requested.” Jakkenbsaud with a bow.
“Are you certain you wish to Summin her alone My lord? I’m told summoning her like this once took a great deal of energy from you.” Rin asked concered

Sekai smiledd as he reached out letting Kai hold his finger as the elder cat drew in his last breath as his eyes closed and he peacefully slipped away, just as his essence traveled into the two globes each of the sisters held as his body faded in a dim flash of light "Bye Daddy"Yukine said before she felt her hands glow as she looked down at her orb "Fret not kitten, I am still here."his voice rang out from the orb "Just call me if you ever need me."

"Quiet Jaken, I don't recall asking for a second opinion"Sesshoumaru said as he sat cross legged on the floor as the markings drawn around him began to glow as he began to release his aura "Lady Luna I beseech thee"he commanded as a large wave of energy suddenly left his body shooting towards the sky as Sesshoumaru gritted through the pain

“Be at peace.” Miaka said and picked up Kai in her arms. He still made grabbing motions at where sekai had been and made sad little sounds.
“Shh......it’s alright little one...you will see him again one day.” She kissed his forehead to soothe him before looking to her sister and moved to her side and hugged her. @im sorry you had to care for him alone....I...should have been here.”

A ghostly visage began to form in front of him, taking on a soft pale white glow and womanly curves before fully forming into the Goddess Luna. “Why have you summoned me Sesshoumaru? You feel troubled.”

"It's okay, it's the least I can do. I was such a pain in the ass Princess for so many years, it's the least I can do for Father"Yukine said hugging her sister back "Besides, like he said, we have his magical index now, he's still right here with us."she said holding up her orb "Well"she said letting out a sigh "At least that's done with. So, let's talk more about you problems with you and Sesshoumaru and the little one."she said shifting gears "Miaka"she said clearing her throat "I'm going to continue running the South.....but you need to be it's crowned Lady. Like I said before, if not for you, than at least for Kai. Give him a gift to make up for his troubled childhood in the least"she said

Sesshoumaru let out a sigh "Seems you aren't watching as diligently as I thought you would."he chided looking up at her "Miaka has returned, and she has bore me a child. He has.....unique abilities unlike which I have never seen before....he restored a portion of my memories just by looking at me.......and I sense something...deeper within him..something powerful. Just who exactly is he a reincarnation of?"

“And what of your own children? What shall you leave for them? She asked more rhetorical but sighed. “Much of what sesshoumaru has been berating me with is that I should take responsibility for my actions....then I shall.....but first should hear the word of the elders and of the people.....I’ve noticed quite a few of the Fallen have made their home here, following Sabreal into a new life.”

“Forgive my lack of viligence......I have taken up Sols duties in his absence..” she said with a hint of pain in her voice. “....but also trying to find a way to release him as well as seeking Yamis whereabouts have taken much of my time.” She said as she sat down across from him.
“So she has returned......from a mother to another I can understand her decision to bring her child home.” She said sadly but her curiosity. “An infant could Undo your mothers magic? That is incredible power.....as you may know, sol and I had a son....our bright star.....but Yami did not like this and killed him to punish us....that was what drove us to finally lock him away, even though that never truly healed our hearts for the loss of our son. Much like you and Miaka, who are reincarnations of the first beings we made...those we gave our gifts....essential they were us. But many of your lives were spent separated or one of you died...if either of you had children, it was with another or that child died before they were able to tap into their powers...the only rational explanation I can think of is that he is a reincarnation of our son.....the very first.....but I don’t see how that could possible.”

"Like I said, I will be staying here in this castle. Can't live in two palaces at once can you? Ruling can be done from the West, and relaxing in the South. I am known as the Pampered Princess after all you know"Yukine pointed out with a laugh "Ruling just isn't my style, I'd much rather be taken care of for the rest of my days, and I have an angel who waits on my hand and foot and loves every inch of me."she said beaming happily "Yes, after all that went down, Sabreal and Artemis and her mother Arial went on a peacekeeping tour throughout the High Heavens and some of the Angels seem to think that our lifestyle may suit them a bit better than up there. So we welcomed them with open arms and I used my wand to transform them. I've actually perfected the process now."she said proudly swishing her tail behind her


"You are still trying to free him hm?"Sesshoumaru said tersely before continuing as Luna moved on "That would make the most sense...but after so many other times of there never being a reincarnation, now it happens? Perhaps it is because Yami still runs free that I am skeptical, but does that not seem too convenient? Sol gets imprisoned, Yami is freed, and now the child of the stars is finally reincarnated? However, I cannot deny the power I witnessed. He has magic that far exceeds my own. Even Miaka had to resort to using blood as a catalyst to stop his magic as such an early age. I fear what should happen should he not control his power."

“You’ve become a capable Yokai. Mother and father should be proud.” She said as Kai grabbed onto the orb her father had gifted her where it emitted a soft glow, “Ba ba...” he cooed as he held the orb.
“I appreciate your support Yukine....I suppose we should speak to the elders now and let the people know of fathers passing....”

“Yes....forever is the fate of the moon to chase after the sun.....surely even you could agree?” She said with a knowing glance before going back to the topic of the child. “The timing is suspicious, admittedly.....I imagine since the last we saw of Miaka was so long ago and I imagine she delayed her pregnancy, yes?”

"Indeed we should, though they probably already felt it. But it's time I put those old youkai in their place. They think that because I am young, that I am ignorant on how to govern. They still went to Father for everything, and he prevented me from lashing out. Now it's time we take back the South."Yukine said grinning

"That is what she claims to have happened. She delayed until her magics could no longer prevent it, and then sought to return the child home."Sesshoumaru said "All I know is that the child is ours and that the power he possess will be far greater than ours by the end. We are going to need assistance in how to handle this."
