The Dragon and the Fox Part 2

Asura glared just faintly at Yami he was arrogant but that just reminded her of her great grandfather before looking to Inu no Taishou as the young demon would move over towards his towering frame. "You think he could make me one? though....didn't he make yours from your fangs...I really don't want to miss one...how else am I to bite Akuma if we get into a fight and he pins me?" she stated before Ayame spoke "Asuramaru...what have I said about biting?" "That is unlady like, wild and crazy and that i'm not a feral creature and should not bite....but it pisses Akuma off so well" she protested with a happy grin making Ayame sigh.

Though she would glance at Yami as he asked for the runes and she turned to Wu, "that would be my husbands department as I am no longer allowed to touch legendary weapons."

"I'm sure he is quite reliable in his own way....just not quite what I thought he would be." She said and sighed and turned to him. "Now that this is over, shall we go and start laying out battle plans and assigning positions. Ryoko and Ryoma will need to be present. Will there be anyone else you need to be amoung your generals?"

Inu no Taishou smiled "No it doesn't have to be just fangs, he can make a blade from almost any material you wish. Though I do recommend something hard like fang or bone, they tend to last much longer and stronger than those forged of metal."

Wu shook his head "Asura..."he said before turning to Yami "As for that, it was said that after you were sealed away that the 4 Lords of the time took the runes and hide them away, but those locations have been lost over thousands of years unfortunately."

Yami deadpanned for a moment looking at Wu before simply stating "Well find them" causing Wu to cock his head slightly as Yami continued "I know you are blind, but are you also deaf monk? I said find my runes. I'll not be able to deal serious damage to Hikari if I don't have a blade that can pierce the heavens, understand?"

Sesshoumaru was about to open his mouth before he was suddenly tackled from behind by a mess of long black hair as he immedately swatted at her as she dodged it and flipped backwards landing next to Miaka grinning as her icy blue eyes turned to her "Sesshoumaru's still as grumpy as when he was a puppy. Did I miss anything important, Sissy?" Yukine asked looking around "Besides you know...3 deities being summoned and all of that"

Asura nodded as she would tap her chin in thought what could she use other than bone or fangs to forge a weapon, something durable but was unlike a typical blades material like metal. "Akuma!! we got a book on weapon materials right?" she asked running up to her brother and grabbing his hand, "cause your helping me study and find out!"

Artemis would hear the knock on the door as she had pushed herself onto the cot she was given, one leg propped up the other hanging off as she spoke "considering the door is locked from the outside I have no say who comes in...so either leave or enter."

"Yukine! What are you doing here?" Miaka asked as her little sister stepped back up beside her. She shook her head though she was unable to keep from smiling. "Oh well ...there is one or two other things..." She said and rubbed at her neck gently.


The guard unlocked the door for inuyasha and he stepped in. "locked or not my mother would have my hide if I walked in with out knocking first." He said and placed the food on a nearby table. "Thought you might be hungry." He said and turned to leave."

Yukine blinked looking from her sister to Sesshoumaru and then back at Miaka "NO WAY! He finally did it! It's about damn time, you've only loved him for forever"she said smiling happily for her sister before turning to look at her father "I'm surprised you didn't have some big flashy formal engagement Daddy"she said "Isn't that what you always do for....well anything really"

Akuma blinked as he was suddenly dragged off with his sister "I can't believe you're actually going to study something besides a new technique" he commented

Artemis would look at Inuyasha as she sat there before speaking, "thanks..." she stated but as he turned to leave she responded. "Is it different for you?" she asked "to have those around you actually accept you and parents to back you up?" she had never had that, and here was another half demon...who had all that.

Asura would roll her eyes, "its for fighting! So of course im going to study it now help me find the books I need..."

"It want like that....it only just happened....and not the way father would have liked." She said as turned back to Yukine. "Now answer me...what are you doing here? Father told you to stay home."

"I didn't always....." He said. "For a long time I was alone." He said having stopped and turned back to her. "For a long time I was alone and hated. Wandering around by myself thinking that what family I had was either dead or hated me."

"Well he did...but when I found out that ALL the nobility was going, like Inuyasha and Ryoma, I figured if their little siblings can go, why not yours"Yukine grinned "Besides it was sooo boring sitting at home all alone."

"Is that all you ever think about?"Akuma sighed "Why don't you just use one of your fangs...they grow back you know"he said

"because I want to know if there's other things to use, and I didn't want to look like a fangless wonder...the last time I lost a tooth I couldn't talk right for awhile...besides" she would let go of her brother, "you finally get to see me with a book" she said teasing him slightly. "that isn't about fighting styles"

Artemis listened to him, and chuckled as she would then speak "well from what I can tell...and from what I've seen, your family never down right hated you" she stated looking at him. "you had two parents willing to do everything, still do to this day...my mother raised me in secret for as long as she could...i remember the day Lucifer found out..." she stated as her weapon seemed to pulse as a dark aura filled the room. "if I could kill that man...Id have done it and fed his soul to my weapon....to battle for eternity against my father and the souls he claimed..."

"Yukine....this is war. Not playtime....Inuyasha and Ryoma are skilled fighters. Also Ryoma is Yamis reincarnation....you are skilled Yukine but father and I do not want to see you hurt and know that our home and clan would be well taken care of should something happen." She said and sighed. "But your here and that's that."

"Yes it is and I have to say Yukine, I am disappointed in you for not doing as you are told." He said as he walked over to his youngest. "You and I will need to have a serious talk little one."

"Your mother did all that she could for you.
Your father died protecting you and your mother.....as long as they cared about you and who you are doing this for, fuck what everyone else thinks. Take that anger and energy and focus it on Lucifer."

Akuma sighed "Fine...fine"he said looking around the library "Dad said that...no....hmmm....there"he said mumbling to himself before vanishing and reappearing with a small set of books as he set them down on a nearby table and flipped thumbed through them quickly "So if you don't want to use fang or bone.... the metal on the blade must either be infused with magic during the creation, or the creation material must be magical in essence....and I think I know the perfect thing for you to use...."he said setting down the first book and picking up another "Got it!, Obisidian, also known as Dragon Glass. It is made by magical properties of dragon fire and once refined can be harder than diamond and sharper than metal. If we traveled to the East where all those dragons are stuck at the temple there in those caverns I'm sure you could find what you needed."he said handing her the book "You can read up on it now."

Yukine sighed "But I can fight too, I'm only expected to stay home and rule because I'm exceptionally well at magic even though I'm not as good a fighter as Miaka my spells are stronger!"she said "And I wanted to help...it's not fair that's it's always Miaka...I want to be useful too...not just some figurehead princess"she said putting her hands on her hips

Asura would watch her brother as he seemed to easily just roam around the library popping up here and there but she waited till he came back, once he did she would lean over his shoulder as he read out to her before she reached out taking the book, she examined it and then looked at him. "That will be a good idea, I can travil there and the angles are to damn scared to even enter Raizen's lands...so I can travel there myself" she stated happily, she knew the dragons would hear her out since their mother was Ayame. As her children the dragons usually listened..

As she read over what was needed, she tapped her clawed fingers on the pages then looked to Akuma. "Thank you little brother" she would smirk, "im going to go start getting the things needed then I'll head out....I'll take one of the stallions they can still fly since its more like magic than wings" the demonic horses who used magic abilities to fly were one of the only ways that demons could still fly...however their parents had them 'grounded' just to be on the safe side and they where still extraordinarily fast even on land.

Artemis would chuckle some listening to him, "My father was killed before I was even born, so I have no idea who he was." she stated simply as she sat there, "I know he was an Oni that is all I know...." she shook her head before standing up as she moved over to the tray of food, though she just reached out taking the bread, then looked at him. "why do you trust me? I could betray you at any moment if I knew it would help me with my mothers freedom."

"I appreciate the thought Yukine and we know you can take care of yourself. But understand that no matter how skilled and talanted you are we will do what we can to protect you." Miaka said


"Not sure yet....maybe like me? Your a Hanyou....but that doesn't make you less then anyone else. Your judged by what you are and not by who you are or what you do. But you have heart and you are fighting to save your mother....what's so wrong with that?" He said and shrugged.

"Not quite" came a voice from behind them as Wu, looking pale and nervous standing beside the creator god Yami as they walked forward "Twins...something has come up, and Lord Yami is requesting--" "Demanding." "--Demanding"Wu corrected himself after Yami clearing his throat "That the runes to Kusunagi be located immediately. There should be a rune scattered to the four corners of these lands, but where that location exactly is in each land is unknown but they are enshrined and protected by a sacred guardian that must be defeated to recover the rune. I'm going to send you two, Inuyasha, Yukine and our two new mysterious friends to travel and find these runes at once."Wu said "I know you two have wanted to be more helpful in this war, but honestly you are the only ones that we can spare to lose on the front lines that can travel around undetected, and also should our two angel friends attempt to betray us, the four of you can easily hold your own."

Asura would turn as she blinked a few times and looked at Yami, then back at her father she had never seen him nervous before. "What! You cannot be serious..." she stated coldly and would even give a faint glare to Yami, "have him do it...hes the one looking for them so why do we need to do it....I want to work on my weapon not his!"

Artemis would chuckle some, "i have no idea if she's even alive anymore....I'm not permitted to see her at all..and without my other half I am unable to directly sense her." she stated simply as she sat there. "When i left them....they sealed the divine energies I have other wise that ancient demon would have been killed with its head on a platter for your empress."

"Well looks like you and I will have time to work together to find away around that. I've been assigned to escort you I guess....not my idea but...it looks like you could use a friend in all this." He said.

"Asura!" Wu said as his anger flared, which was unusual for the usually level headed monk "You and your brother will do as you are ordered."he said firmly

Akuma nudged his sister "Of course Father"he said aloud before turning to his sister lowering his voice as Yami and Wu talked for a brief moment "What are you doing idiot! You don't deny a request from a God! And you really think they are going to let you go out and collect dragon glass in the east all by yourself? We are at war, Mother would literally track you down herself the instant she found out you left. But this way, in a group, we can all travel to the east to find the missing rune, we can finally get into some fights, you can get your dragon glass AND if we do well we can prove we are valuable and get a bigger role in this war."he said to her all in one breath and sighed "I really wish you used your brain more instead of being so selfish sometimes. This is good for ALL of us, not just you." he said then turned back to Yami and his dad "We will prepare ourselves and leave with the group as soon as we are all ready."he said bowing his head

Asura would roll her eyes slightly as she didn't even care that her father was yelling at her, it wasn't new really though she would look at Akuma as he pulled her to the side. "I am not thinking selfishly in this Akuma! He maybe a god but he hasn't been around nor does he even want to help anyone....hes just doing it because Lucifer grew stronger than him that's it" she whispered harshly to her brother, "also...learn to breath in between sentences you almost turned purple..." Though as they turned to look back at their father, she would mutter something only to wince feeling her brother hit her in the gut slightly. "We will get ready to depart..." she said bowing her head quickly before turning to follow after her brother. "That hurt...." she stated harshly to him.

Artemis tilted her head slightly as she would shrug, "that's fine...you wouldn't happen to have any clothing though would you? Mine is all shredded or bloody and I rather not have to run around in a kimono...not my style." she chuckled pulling at the white fabric.

"I'll see what I can find for you. Sorry to say though till the Empress or Emporer says otherwise? The guards will remain outside the door....." He said as he motioned to the door. "I'll tell them that if you need anything to have them come get me. I'll be back once I find something you will find fitting."

"Yeah well I'll do worse next time." Akuma sighed "Haven't you heard the saying, the enemy of the enemy is my friend. Yami may be an impartial god, but he hates Lucifer just as much as we do and can actually do some damage to him. If this is what it takes to finally move one step to having a normal life again then so be it"he stated "Besides, by us taking out a group of people on a mission, we've just officially become Lieutenants in the army, behind Captain Ryoma, Vice-Commander Miaka and Commander-General Sesshoumaru " he said proudly "I think that's a huge step forward"

Artemis would nod her head slightly as she sat there, "I have no problem with guards" she stated with a chuckle, "you should have seen the 'place' they had me living in...nothing but a cot, door and window...all bared" she stated simply. "As for your watching me, I don't mind your more attractive" she winked

Asura would sigh some as she walked with him, and she looked at him "fine...fine!" she stated with a groan rubbed the back of her head, "sometimes I wonder were you came from....your more stubborn than dad and have an attitude worse than moms.."

Inuyasha stared for a minute before clearing his throat. "Um..yeah well....enjoy your breakfast I'll be back with some new clothes for you." He said and turned to go out the door.

"Well looks like you are going to be helping after all...I don't like that you'll be be around that...angel but....I can't go against the Emporers orders." Miaka said and sighed.

Yukine grinned at her sister "Oh don't worry, it'll be fine. I saw this in my crystal ball. Those angels are mysterious...but with my magic and Inuyasha's strength they shouldn't be a problem. Plus the twins and their powerhouses."she commented "It'll be like a walk across the lands"she said

"Not quite"Wu said as he and Yami returned "The 4 sacred guardians are supposedly creatures who have lived through time to protect these runes. They are hard to find, and even harder to defeat. I just never thought we would ever actually have to engage enemies of this caliber."he said rather defeated

"At least my attitude actually gets stuff done"Akuma said as they walked together "How are you not more excited about this? This is the only way we would get out the castle, and you get the stuff for your sword, and we have rank now, it's a win/win/win."

Asura would shrug her shoulders as she looked at her brother, "I don't know...I just thought our first task wouldn't be some errand to find something..." she stated as she looked at him, "Though I am glad we are finally getting a chance to prove ourselves, not only to our parents but the other lords...we're powerful but...we're not really tested outside of a monitored environment..."

Artemis would smirk watching him, as he left "I'll look forward to seeing you again Inuyasha..." she let his name roll off her tongue as she could see him shiver faintly before he left.
